What would you do if you died today

What would you do if you died today? What would you regret?

What would you say as your last words? What would you have kept?

What if your debt was one man’s blood? What if the blood was mine?

Would you let me spill it all if you knew I saved you from dying?

Even if you didn’t know, would you still let me die?

Would watch me slit my wrists and choke the words ‘good-bye’?

Would let the tears roll down faster than the crimson stains or would you turn away?

Would you know how much it hurts to see your tears? Would you make me stay?

Would you hug me close and tight if it was my last desire?

Or would you scream and take the knife and make yourself retire?

Would you let me know before we drift astray?

Do honestly think that it’s better this way?

What would you do if you died today? What would you regret?

What would you say as your last words? What would you have kept?

What if your debt was one man’s blood? What if the blood was mine?

Would you let me spill it all if you knew I saved you from dying?

Even if you didn’t know, would you still let me die?

Would you watch me stand to face the loaded gun and let me see you cry?

Would you let the bullet shoot louder than the beating of your heart?

Would you let even the pain of death tear us apart?

Would you take the gun and perform Juliet’s final scene?

Or would you let me burn away, let my life rip at the seam?

Would you let me know, before we drift astray?

Do honestly think that it’s better this way?

What would you do if you died today? What would you regret?

What would you say as your last words? What would you have kept?

What if your debt was one man’s blood? What if the blood was mine?

Would you let me spill it all if you knew I saved you from dying?

Even if you didn’t know, would you still let me die?

Would you let me take the chance without seeing eye to eye?

Would you let me throw it all away if you knew I did it for my friend?

Would you let me bear the cross if it meant the end?

Would you let me trip and fall if it meant you wouldn’t spill your soul?

Or would you the blood it congeal, letting me be whole?

Would you let me sacrifice myself if it meant you lived forever?

Would you let me die so that you could never?

The bottom Line of this, I guess, is to always be a friend,

Because you don’t know on which day that your life will end.

Whether it be by choice, nature, or even force,

Stay faithful to my hope and ensure you stay on course.
