TearDrop
My tear drop fell
And trickles down crinkled cheeks
Lined with life and time.
I opened my heart to the pain,
To the burning fire
And gave myself,
And maybe you saw,
And maybe you didn’t
Or maybe you didn’t care,
But my eyes opened and cried,
One last tear drop fell,
Then crystalised as I died.
The ocean is one thousand tear drops,
From one thousand injured souls.
We mourn for those we lost,
Those to whom we never said goodbye.
In sleep’s deepest mare we thrash,
Stretch to grasp just one finger,
Save them from the crash,
But they are gone,
And waking, is breaking,
Our hearts splintering once more
To a thousand shards,
A thousand pearly drops,
Deeper than the ocean,
Deeper than the heart.
One thousand tear drops down,
Down in the ocean’s depths, we drown.
