I stood and watched her from the second floor window. She was so beautiful. Her long black hair blowing in the wind. The red lipstick going wonderfully with her beautiful white skin. The sad and distant look in her blue eyes. She was beyond beautiful.
When the realization hit that we could never be together I always tried to forget her face, but I never could. Now I stand in the second floor window watching her walk past my house. Wishing that one day she will knock on my door.
One rainy day I got my wish. That day I stood in the second floor window. She was running along the path holding her books over her head.
Instead of going strait like she normally would, she turned slightly. She ran up my front steps, and knocked on my door. I was down there in a flash.
Once I opened the door she spoke in her soft voice.
“Excuse me sir. I'm sorry to disturb you, but its raining, and I was wondering if I could come in.”
'My lord she is even more beautiful in person'. I thought stepping to the side to allow her in.
“Thank you.” she said in her soft tone.
“Of course.” I said closing the door as she walked in.
I walked to the kitchen and asked her if she would like something to drink. She said yes, and I asked her if water would be OK. Again she said yes.
I fixed her water, and brung it over to her.
“Please have a seat in my living area.” I said leading her to a beautiful NAVY Blue room, with some red, and Emerald Green mixed in.
“Its beautiful.” she breathed.
“Thank you Ms.” I said a little embarrassed by the compliment on my living area.
“Lunar. Lunar Starfield.” she said, introducing herself.
“Lunar Starfield. That is a very beautiful name.” I said smiling slightly at her.
“Thanks. My mom was always fascinated with outer space, and so was my dad. When I was born they said I reminded them of the moon. Thats basically how I got my name.” she explained to me.
She shifted a little in her seat. She kept opening and closing her mouth a if she was going to say something, but kept deciding against it.
“If you want to ask me a question then please feel free to do so.” I said smiling at her.
She smiled back, and asked me my name. I felt truly embarrassed. I was always taught to introduce myself before anything else.
“I am so sorry. I forgot my manners. My name is Knight. Knight Cunvington.” I introduced myself after apologizing to her for my ill manners.
“Its OK. Its very nice by the way. Your name I mean.” she said while laughing.
She had such a pure and beautiful laugh. I wish I could listen to it for all of eternity.
“Thank you. My mother loved Knights so she named me after them.” I explained to her.
We sat, and enjoyed each others company for about an hour. I did not hear anymore rain, and I felt sadness settle in my stomach.
“I do not believe it is raining anymore.” I said to her, easily masking the sadness that would have been noticeable.
“I believe your right.” she said standing up.
I quickly stood up and led her to the door.
“Would you like me to drive you home?” I asked noticing that the sun had set.
She turned and looked out the door, then turned back towards me with fear settling in her eyes.
“Yes please.” she said with fear in her voice.
I smiled, and offered her my arm, and she gratefully took it. I led her to my car at the side of the house, and opened the passenger door, and walked over to the drivers side.
We lowly traveled down the path. Trees surrounded us on all sides. I could tell she was frightened just by the way she kept looking out her window, and looking out mine.
“Right here.” she said in a shaky voice. She pointed to a two story house much like mine.
Once I had pulled in and shut off the car, I got out and went around to the passenger side of the car and opened the door. Again I offered my arm to her. She, again, gratefully took it.
She held more tightly to my arm than last time, and as we got closer to the house her grip only tightened.. I did not mind because I missed the feel of having someone so close to me.
She opened the door and turned on the light. She gestured for me to follow her. I smiled, and walked in. The light burned me a little, but I ignored the burning sensation.
“Would you like something to drink?” she asked walking into the kitchen with me following after.
“Yes please. Some fruit juice if you have it.” I said politely while leaning gently against the wall.
She walked out of the kitchen and handed me the glass of fruit juice, then walked over to the couch, and motioned to the seat next to her.
I gratefully took the seat, and took a sip of my juice.
“You have a lovely home.” I said smiling at her.
“Thank you. I live here with my parents while I finish school.” she said looking down.
“Why do you look so sad?” I asked with concern in my voice.
“Nothing.” he said imply shadowing her eyes.
I did not believe her when she said it was nothing so I set my drink down, and scooted closer to her. I put my arm around her shoulder, and pulled her close.
“If there is something wrong then please tell me. You can always talk to me.” I said holding her.
“It just that every night I wake up to them fighting about me. I don't exactly know what about me, but they are fighting about me.” she sobbed into my shoulder.
I rubbed her back soothingly. I could think of one thing to say to her in this situation. 'I never had to deal with it, but that does not mean that I cannot be here. Sometime silent comfort is the best, and only comfort.' I thought.
After a while I noticed that she had stopped crying. I heard her breathing, and figured she was asleep.
“She is so beautiful.” I said in a whisper hoping she did not hear.
I had to go so I gently laid her in the couch, covered her up, and kissed her forehead.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me back down. I kissed her hand, and softly whispered in her ear, “I must leave Lunar. I am so sorry.”
I slid my hand from hers, and walked back out the front door.
When I arrived home I went strait to my room. In my room I was greeted by him.
“Hello Knight. Long time no see.” Lucas, an old enemy of mine, said with a smile, and a cheerful tone, or at least the most cheerful tone he could manage.
“Cut the crap Lucas. What is it that you want this time?” I asked not even trying to hide the venom in my voice.
“HoHo. I myself thought it was quite obvious what I want Knight.” he said with as much humor a he could muster.
“Lunar...” was all I could say.
