Chapter 3

When I awoke that night I was met by her beautiful blue eyes. She had a look of happiness, and shock at the same time.

I smiled at her, and she smiled back. Her smile was so enchanting. I wish I could look at such an enchanting smile for eternity.

“Knight, did you really mean what you said last night before you went to sleep?” she asked looking at the trees strait ahead of her.

I looked in the same direction, and said “Yes.”

She turned to face me, and I her. I could tell that she was ecstatic by my answer. I leaned forward and kissed her gently.

When we pulled away we looked into each others eyes for a long moment. Nothing could tear our eyes from each other, at least that was until a sound from the woods caused us to jump, and look around us.

When I looked back to her, I smiled and offered my hand to her as I stood. She took it, and gave me a questioning look. I shook my head, and picker her up.

As I ran through the woods blurs of animal, and a few couples passed us by. They only felt a slight breeze from the speed we traveled as we went passed them.

“Knight what is it?!” she yelled so that her voice was not lost in the wind.

'It was nothing for you to worry about.' I said to her through thoughts.

“Are you sure?!” she yelled.

'Lunar please talk to me through thoughts. It makes it easier to understand what you are saying.'

'OK. Now are you sure its something I need not worry about?' she asked through thoughts like I had asked.

'Yes Lunar. I just thought it best that we get moving.' I said to her.

'Where are we going?' she asked.

I sighed at that question and thought it over for a few minutes. I had not quite figured out where we were headed yet.

'We will go to my sister house, then to my brothers, and then finally to my mothers, and fathers.' I said after a few minute of thinking it over.

When she said nothing I figured that she was asleep. I smiled and stopped at the outskirts of the small town of Dreamsville.

“This is not going to be fun.” I mumbled as I waled into the town.

Everyone knew me at Dreamsville. I never quite understood why because I rarely ever visited my sister Emerald.

Me and her never got along. We always tried to avoid each other when we were little. When ever we did run into each other our mother and father would have to pull us away from each other. I chuckled a little as I remembered one such incident.

I was walking through the rose garden going towards the house, and Emerald was coming from the house walking through the rose garden. We glared at each other and started to fight. We did not stop until mother and father pulled us apart, and even then we were still going at it.

Honestly children. Can you at least try to get along?” asked mother letting out a tired sigh.

Now now Ruby. They are just children.” sighed father.

Sorry mother.” me and Emerald had said in unison while still glaring at each other.

Right. I want you two too go your separate ways, and if your mother and I must separate you two again I myself will talk to you.” said father.

We went our separate ways, and did not fight again for a fortnight. The next time we fought father kept his promise. We indeed got a very stern talking to about how siblings are supposed to get along.

I still do not get why we never got along. It was like an instant hate hate formed between us. A hate that was there when we were born.

I knocked on Emeralds door, and waited for an answer. When the door opened I was met by a glare. Instinctively I glared back.

“Knight. What brings you here?” asked Emerald venomously.

“I need a place to stay for a day.” I answered just as venomously.

“I might have a place open.”

“Emerald you always have a place open.” I shot at her annoyance seeping into my voice.

“Well, you do not know that now do you? I COULD have a visitor.” she shot back.

I just glared at her. Grinding my teeth together . My word! I cannot stand her. I thought pushing by her.

“Well, come on in.” she said sarcastically.

“Emerald please. Do not start with me.” I sighed.

“Whatever. You know where the guest bedroom is. Also if you do not want that human girl to become dinner keep her with you at all times.” she said chucking a little.

I only sighed and went up to the guest bedroom. I opened the door and set her down on the couch. I sighed, and leaned against the wall that was closest to her head. I looked at her and smiled then I closed my eye.

When I awoke that night I found Lunar leaning against my shoulder. I gently raised her, and laid her down on my lap. I stroked her hair, and smiled.

She stirred and slowly awoke. She blinked her eyes, and stared at me a few minutes. I stared back at her. I leaned down, and gently kissed her.

“Good morning love.” I whispered in her ear. She shivered at my breath on her ear.

“Good morning sweet.” she said smiling at me.

There was a knock at the door just as I was about to kiss her again. I let out an annoyed sigh.

“What is it Emerald?” I asked tapping Lunar on the shoulder. She got the message and stood up, with me standing up behind her.

“WELL, that the last time I try to tell you that dinner is in the living room.” she said annoyed.

“No thank you. Knowing you it is a live human wondering where in the heck he is.”

“Fine. I'll have all the fun.”

“Emerald drinking from a live human, and actually enjoying it is low. Even for you.”

“Why do you think mother and father disowned me?”

“Yes emerald I know.”

“Then why did you bring it up?!”

“Because I am tired! I forgot OK?!” I snapped.

“WELL THEN SLEEP YOU INCONSIDERATE HOUND!”

That tore it. I went over to the door, opened it, and slapped her.

“Do. Not. Try. ME!” I stated trying to calm down.

“I wouldn't if you would be more considerate to your own twin sister!” she yelled punching me.

“Emerald I am warning you.” I hissed ready to attack her.

She said nothing. Her eyes flashed red, and for an instant she was gone. In another instant she was scratching and punching me. I threw her off, and she crashed into the far wall.

“Emerald stop!” I yelled at her.

“Never Knight! Mother and father always stopped u, but not this time!” she yelled, again scratching and punching me.

That does it. I thought curling my hand into a fit. With a harsh blow to the side of her head she was knocked out.

“I told you not to test me. Did I not sister?” I mumbled breathing hard, and standing over her now unconscious body.

I turned around to look at Lunar, but instead of being met with a slightly scared girl I was met with a shacking, shivering, and crying Lunar.

I knew that she would not want to be near me right at this moment, so I picked up Emerald and took her to her room. I laid her down on the bed, and bandaged her wounds. I then went back to Lunar.

“Lunar I am very sorry you had to witness that skirmish between me and Emerald. I would not usually explode like that. I am sorry. I do not know what came over me.” I explained slowly walking to her.

She tried to scramble back, but her back was already against the wall. I took one step closer, and she snapped.

“Stay back! Stay away from me!” she said pulling her knees to her chest, and sobbing.

“Lunar please listen to me. I feel really horrid because you had to see that.” I said sitting on the couch.

“Heartless...” she cried.

If I had a heart I would of felt it drop into my stomach right at that moment. All she said was heartless, but I knew that she was talking about me. I understood though. I do not blame her for thinking that.

I knew the sun was rising. I closed my eyes, and felt tears streaming down my face. I went to sleep.

When I awoke the next night I noticed a note stuck to me. I took it, and read it silently.

'Knight,

Please don't cry. When I said heartless I didn't mean it. It was just something I said in the heat of the moment. I'm really sorry.

If you look beside you you will see a glass of blood. Please drink it and come find me.

I will either be wandering around town or in the woods.

-Lunar.'

I crumpled the letter up, and drank down the blood in an instant.

I used my speed to look for her in town and in the woods. When I finally found her she was laying shacking on the ground in a dark alley way. She was bleeding, and unclothed. I picked her up, and ran back to Emeralds.

In the guest bedroom I laid her down on the couch. I ran to the closet and picked a Navy Blue dress. I put it on her, and quickly bandaged her up. I then lifted her head up carefully, and carefully set it back down on my lap. I took her hand, and held it. I then stayed up with her until sunrise.

The last thing I seen was her beautiful face, and hair.
