Fishing
A catch a worm’s death A hike so short to
An end a cold no-breath The back, a shack stood
Fish, one wish There once, but now it’s a boat
For a moat, a castle
An aquatic edifice
A stage for fishy plays to climb and enjoy
With drama moist and somber a toy for boys
An underwater wonder to ponder a wilderness camp, stamped
With chips perhaps and lemon with God’s fingerprints
Greasy fingers eating
The sunset on the water
With iced-tea, breathe
Water and air, no bear
To tear you up, from
The current or steal
Your toast, a nuisance
Or a reaper at best
So swim and dive Break camp, moist and
Juke and jive, be damp with dew, number
Alive, scaled in fishy mail the days too few, and
A breathing suit, sweet the fish stew tasted
To eat and wishing, so good the day we
That no one is… all went…
