Actor

Let the lights take you in

Feel the wood under your shoes

The glossy top of the stage shines

But you shine brighter

Everyone is at your feet

And you cascade upwards

With lines, and notes

A dance of life for thespians.

You know not what it means to be nervous.

You just know what it means to act

And so you do it

And so you’re successful.

You have the gut

To get up on that stage

Regardless of what they say

You know your business.

Acting is not a hobby

It is a passion

You must understand that passion

Before you can act.

Do you understand it?

The adrenaline rush

Right before you enter

Stage left or right.

The feeling you get when you exit

Knowing you did everything right

Executed flawlessly

You’ve found your place, this is what you do.

So let the curtains pull you in

Let the set, set your mind

Let the seats be full

For you, are an actor.
