Yes. So this is the first official chapter to 'I Am.' I hope you like it. It took me a little while to think of what exactly I was going to do, and then I had to make it just right. So I hope you enjoy this chapter.
I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
Emily watched her mother’s reaction, waiting for any sign of something. Her mother’s face was blank, and nothing could be read. “Mom?” Her voice was soft as she spoke. Her mother’s face still remained impassive and pale. “Mom? Please say something. I really need you to say something. You're scaring me."
Her mother opened her mouth and closed it slowly, then opened it again. Her mother closed her eyes and rubbed her temples, like she was thinking, like it was taking so long for her daughter's words to process. It wasn't that hard to get, was it?
Emily watched her mother’s lips move as though in slow-motion. She blinked and her heart seemed to stop. No, she couldn't have heard right. Her mother didn't just...hadn't just...no. It wasn't right. Her ears where playing tricks on her. That had to be it. It couldn't be...couldn't... “What?” She looked confused and hurt and tears welled up in her eyes. Her mother repeated her words, more slowly this time.
“Get…out…of…my…house…”
Emily froze, her heart almost stopping. “Mom, you don’t really mean that, do you? Please don’t say things like that. It hurts. You shouldn't say things like that. You're not serious, are you? Mom…”
“Get out!” her mother screamed. “I will not have a fag daughter in my house!” She threw a vase at her daughter’s retreating back. “Don’t you ever come back! Never! I never want to see your wretched face again! Never ever! Fags like you deserve to die! Rot in hell! Rot! You worthless wretch!”
Emily ran, tears pouring down her face. How could her mother do this to her? After all the courage she’d mustered up, after all the love and support her mother had shown her before she knew, why now? How could one little thing like that, only tiny little detail, one simple thing…take away everything in that instant? How?
The front door of the house slammed shut behind her as she ran.
Well, it's short, I know. But they're supposed to be that way. No one wants to read something long and drawn out. Besides, I like it where it is. So, anyway, now i've wasted five seconds of your time, please allow me to use up a few more seconds of your precious time to ask you to review. It would mean a lot to me, and it doesn't take that long to do. I do accept anonymous reviews, so those work too. Well, anyway, I don't know when the next thing will be up, so yeah.
PLEASE REVIEW! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HIT THE LITTLE BUTTON AND SAY, 'GOOD JOB!'
And then I will be happy.
