Chapter Four: Opening Up…Even if it’s a Little – Phoenix
Saturday night, party time. Off to get Nick so that we can head over to Nikki’s for the party for the friends who’re going off to college or university.
Well, I hadn’t exactly left my house yet, I was sort of in a conversation with the old man.
“Where the hell do you think you’re going? You were out late last night and now you’re going out again tonight?” my father yelled at me.
“Party, if you really must know.” I replied.
“You’re not going to any parties. You’re still living under my roof and my rules apply.”
“Well then, I’m going to Nick’s.” I replied calmly.
“Right, you think I’m an idiot? I know you’ll go to Nick’s and then you’ll go to that party.”
“Maybe, maybe not. Whatever happens though I’m still not staying here.” I replied. “See ya later.” I went to the front door and put my shoes on.
“You stay put right there.”
“Bye!” I replied and opened the door and slammed it shut hurrying over to my car.
After a short little drive I got to Nick’s house and he was waiting outside all ready to go with his girlfriend, Jessie.
We drove off to Nikki’s house which was just in the ‘snobby’ part of town. The houses were huge and everyone there was full of themselves. Except for a very few amount of people. We entered Nikki’s house and the party was already started and the music was blasting. At the current moment it was Four Minutes by Madonna featuring Justin Timbelake.
If you want it.
You already got it.
If you thought it.
It better be what you want.
If you feel it.
It must be real just.
say the word.
and I’m a give you what you want.
So, yea. Not the greatest music, well…for some people, like me, but since it was a party they usually played music that people could dance to and shit. Plus, this dj always assigned the music. Oh, that’s right, I never told you. Well…Nikki’s parents are rich. Her mom is a model and her dad is an actor. Anyway, immediately Jessie pulled Nick away off to the living room where all the dancing was being taken place. I walked through Nikki’s house heading for the kitchen when some random girl, who I had never seen before started tugging on me arm.
“Um?” I looked at her confused.
“Oh, common! Let’s dance!” the girl said tugging on my arm some more.
“I’d rather not.” I said getting out of her grasp and walking away dodging some guy who was walking by. The girl tried to follow me but failed dodging through the crowd of people. I made it to the kitchen finally.
“Phoenix!” Nikki called out to me.
“Heyyyyyy Nikki.” I greeted back.
“Good to see you finally.” Nikki said reaching me and giving me a hug.
“Ha ha, Nikki, the party only began like…ten minutes ago or something and you’re already getting buzzed.” I teased her. She was a pretty light drinker.
“Oh, common. Have one.” She said reaching over to the counter and grabbing a beer and passing it to me.
I took the beer and opened it with one of my bottle openers and drank a bit of it.
“There we go.” she smiled up at me. “Common,” she pulled on my arm and I followed her.
She led us out to the living room where all the dancing was being taken place and she started weaving herself through and I followed.
She walked up to a group of people who were all just chatting and slightly dancing.
“Hey guyss! This is one of my band mates, Phoenix.” She introduced me to them.
“Hey man!” a guy called out to me.
“Hey,” I returned.
“Phoenix, these are a few of my moms and dads friend’s sons and daughters. Basically, I’ve grown up with them and so have a few other people of our friends because of me.” she paused. “This is Brandon, Travis, Phil, Rays,” she said pointing to all the guys first. “Aimee, Natalia, Paige, Ellie and Violet.” she pointed to all the females. “Here, Phoenix, I’ll be back in a few. Chat amongst all of them.” she said winking to me.
She walked away and then went out of site.
I started talking to a few of the guys there and found out that a few of them were in a relationship with a few of the girls. Actually, to be more specific all the guys were in a relationship with one of the girls except one of the girls was single. Maybe that’s why Nikki winked at me, she wanted to try and set me up.
“Hey, wait…isn’t Nikki in a relationship?” one of the girls suddenly asked.
“Hey, come with me?” one of the girls asked me, I think it was Violet.
“Sure?” I questioned.
We walked through all the dancing bodies and headed towards the kitchen.
“So, Phoenix?” she asked me.
“Yea…” I paused.
“I’m Violet.”
Okay, so I was right.
“Do you want another beer?” she asked me.
“Nah, I’ll pass.” I replied. “Thanks though.”
“Alright, if you insist.” she replied smiling up at me and then grabbed herself another drink.
“Phoenix!” I heard Krystle’s voice and then she tapped me from behind.
“Hey Krystle,” I said turning around.
“Oh, it’s great to see you again.” she gave me a hug and then let go.
“Hey, Phoenix, I’m going to go back to the group there. Come back, okay?” she asked me.
“Sure,” I replied. Then Violet left.
“So, who was that?” Krystle asked me sounding a little jealous.
“Some girl named Violet…Nikki introduced me to her a few minutes ago.” I paused. “Apparently, Nikki is drunk.” I responded pointing over to Nikki who was toppling over people and bouncing really…energetically so to speak.
“Oh man, she’s totally light weight.” Krystle paused. “Common, let’s attack her, well…you know.” Krystle responded and sure enough I knew what she was thinking.
We went over to Nikki and Krystle attacked Nikki from behind and dragged her off to another room where there were no people. Nikki’s room.
“Okay Nikki,” Krystle paused and I started laughing in the background.
“Oh no.” Nikki gasped. She knew what was about to happen. “Uhm, Phoenix, you really aren’t a jerk, are you?”
“Ha ha, nice try Nikki, but…it’s rather fun.” I responded and then Krystle started tickling Nikki. My job, was really to just make sure that Nikki couldn’t escape. We knew Nikki was really ticklish that sometimes the slightest touch would tickle her. However, when she was drunk, it was worse, but it was the funniest thing ever.
“UNCLE! UNCLE!!” Nikki screamed.
“Too bad I’m not a guy,” Krystle responded.
“OKAY, OKAY, OKAY! AUNT! AUNT! AUNT!” she screamed.
After a few more seconds of torture Krystle stopped tickling Nikki and backed away.
“You guys are jerks.” Nikki glared at us.
“Yea, but you love us!” Krystle and I responded at the same time and gave Nikki a huge hug.
“HELP!” Nikki screamed again.
“No use,” I smirked. “Ooof” Nikki jabbed me in the gut with her elbow and I let go of her.
“Okay, okay!” I replied then went out of the room.
“Phoenix, you get back here!” Nikki responded trying to chase after me but then a few guys started crowding around her.
Suddenly someone grabbed my arm and dragged me off to the side.
“Phoenix, let’s get out of here.” Nick said to me.
“Okay?” I responded. “Where’s Jessie?” I asked.
“She’s already gone home.” Nick responded right away.
“Alright,” we went outside and we went to the car and I drove Nick home. The drive home was pretty silent, minus the music. After I dropped Nick off home I went to my house, shortly after and then to my room and nearly passed out. It was hard sometimes staying up really late and then waking up early cause of your old man. If you weren’t up by eight he’d literally come storming in your room with pots and pans and clang them together. Not a pleasant wakening.
School today, Nick told me he didn’t need a ride so I went to school right away. I met up with someone from the nightclub the other night that was also with a two girls who weren’t there.
“Oh hey!” one of the guys shouted out to me. At first I was confused, but then I remembered who it was. “You’re that guy, from the nightclub, the singer from Voltage Pit.”
I couldn’t hear what one of the girls said to the other girl in the group but it sounded something like “Oh my god he’s so hot.”
“Err…yea.” I responded.
“Your band was amazing.” The guy responded back to me.
“Thanks,”
“So, do you guys have any more gigs coming up or was that it?”
“Well, we intend to get a few more gigs soon, but it may be a bit tricky at the moment because one of our band mates is off to college.”
“Oh, that sucks.”
“Yea, but we’ll manage. We’re still going to practice and try to get gigs whenever it’s possible. Plus, the one who is off to college is known to be a skipper or slacker.”
“Ha ha, great.” he responded back to me. “So, I’m Seth, I don’t believe we really met, you just looked familiar.”
“I’m Phoenix.” I introduced myself.
“Oh hi, I’m Katie.” the one girl who said something I couldn’t quite hear introduced herself to me.
“Oh, and I’m Rachel.” the other girl introduced herself.
“So, why don’t you hang out with us? You look as if you’re by yourself.” Seth offered.
“Sure,”
We started talking more and more, Seth and I were ignoring the two girls who were gossiping about who knows what when one of them squealed.
“Ohhh! Look! Rachel! It’s John and it looks like he’s…EW! He’s talking to that bitch!”
“Hey Faye,” we heard the John guy greet Faye.
“What do you want ass fuck?” she asked him sounding annoyed.
“Who’re your friends?” he asked ignoring the ass fuck comment.
“Don’t even start—”
“Wow, so who’re you beautiful?” the John guy interrupted Faye and looked over at her friend.
The two girls, Katie and Rachel were groaning in the background.
“Ugh, ew, those girls aren’t even pretty.” Katie said to Rachel.
“I know, and there John is hitting on them. God!”
I tuned them out to listen to the other part.
I missed what Faye said so it was back to what John was saying.
“Whoa Faye, calm down. I just want to get to know your friend.”
“Oh really? Why don’t you ‘get to know her’ and find out what happens to your dick, or lack there of, afterwards. Now then, fuck off and go back to your sluts over there.” she pointed over to a bunch of cheerleaders and then grabbed her friends are and dragged her away.
“Hey, Seth, Phoenix, we’ll see you guys later, okay?” Katie said and then they ran off.
“Later,” Seth and I said together.
“Wow, Faye sure is interesting.” Seth said rather amused after the girls left and then walked away from all the crowd and drama.
“Ha ha, so it seems.” I replied. “Wait…” I paused thinking about my question quickly.
“What?” Seth asked.
“Nothing, I was thinking of how you knew her, then again, if you’ve been here before you probably would’ve, or at least, that’s what my friend Nick tells me. Also, if you were at the concert then you would’ve possibly met her there…”
“Well, it’s kind of both. See, here Faye has the reputation of being a complete bitch to everyone and anyone. Mostly to people who start shit with her though. I never talked to her before though. Then at the concert Nate, which was that guy standing with Faye and her friend, well, Nate was talking to myself, Jennifer and Amelia who are two of my friends going off to uni and then Faye and her friend came up to us cause they saw Nate and then from there we all just started talking. Oh, and your friend Nick, is he in your band? And…if so was that Nick Livingston?”
“Nick Livingston, yes. He’s in the band also.” I replied.
“I thought that was him. He looks a bit different though from last year.”
“Well, he did dye his hair…and he did get some new piercings…but I don’t know what else could be different. It’s hard to tell when someone changes if you’ve known them for quite sometime.”
“Huh, maybe that’s it then.” Seth replied while we were walking in the school’s halls. “So, this is your first year here?” he asked me.
“Yea,” I replied.
“Heyyyy there Sethy!” two random guys came up to us.
“Hey guys, this is Phoenix.” Seth introduced me to the two guys. “Phoenix, this is Jeff and Jayden.”
“Hey,” both of them said at once.
Before any of us had anything else to say we turned a corner and I bumped into someone. I sure was bumping into a lot of people recently.
“Seth!” one of the people in the other group called. Then the two started talking amongst themselves.
I looked down to see who I bumped into. Okay, so scratch my earlier comment. It looks like I keep bumping into the same person. Faye looked up at me and then her friend started snickering and her other friend…glared at me…for no reason? Unless it was cause I bumped into Faye? Faye’s head turned when her friend snickered and she seemed to have mouthed something to her. She then turned back to me and shoved me out of the way.
“Move it.” then she walked past me.
“Hey, hey, hey, Cady, Faye, I’ll catch you guys later. Nice meeting you Cyn!” the guy said to the girls and we all walked away with me trailing behind.
We were all talking randomly at people and then the newcomer wanted to talk to me.
“Hey, Phoenix is it?” he asked me.
“Yea, erm…” I paused trying to think of his name.
“It’s Nate,” he replied to me.
“Oh right! Ha ha, sorry about that.” I responded.
“No biggie, I’m sure you had a lot of people talking to you at the nightclub.” he responded.
“Kind of,”
“Hey, so anyway, what class do you have first?” he asked me.
“Art,” I replied. “How about you?”
“ART! We have the same class then!”
The bell rang then and we all went to go to our class.
“Okay, now how long have you been to this school?” Nate asked me.
“This is my first time, same with you then, right?” I asked.
“Yea…we’re gonna get lost.” he replied to me.
“Totally,” I responded.
We wandered through the hallway when Nick stopped us.
“Hey, Phoenix, lost already?” he teased me.
“You douche.” I responded and Nick started laughing.
“Hey!! You’re that guy, in his band!” Nate responded.
“Uhm, yes?” Nick asked confused.
“Nick, this is Nate, he was at the concert. Remember Faye? Well…Nate is Faye’s—”
“Best friends twin brother.” Nate responded with a huge smile.
“I’m Nick,” Nick replied. “Anyway, you two in the same class?” he asked us.
“Yea, it’s Art.” I replied.
“Okay, follow me.” He said and he walked past us. Apparently we were walking in the wrong direction.
We followed Nick and a few seconds later we were outside of the class doors.
“Kay, there ya go. Oh, hey, Phoenix, I need to talk to you for a second.” Nick said as Nate was walking in.
“Kay, let’s go over there.” I said pointing to a spot away from the door.
We walked over there and then Nick started talking.
“Okay, about the band…”
I waited. After a few seconds he still didn’t talk. “Yes?” I pushed a bit.
“Okay, here goes. Jessie doesn’t want me in the band because she thinks that Nikki is hitting on me constantly and she feels like Nikki is competition and she also doesn’t like the fact that we party lots and—” Nick rushed through his sentence and then I interrupted him.
“What the fuck man? That’s a bunch of bullshit.” I replied and then Nick cut in.
“Okay, but I get where she’s coming from though. I mean, at the party, you know how there was beer and shit? Well…I got a little drunk, so did Nikki and we kinda…kissed.” he paused and looked down.
“What the fuck?!” I nearly screamed out loud.
“Well…she saw us, she got pissed and I only found out in the morning when I had a hangover. I have no idea though, as to whether or not, what she said was true. I mean, I couldn’t remember anything after we got to the party. Yet, for some reason she was willing enough to…forgive me?” he questioned.
“Okay, well…we’ll talk about this later, okay? Class will start soon and you still need to get to your class.” I replied to him.
“Yea, I guess. See ya.” Nick said as he turned away from me and walked in the direction of his class. He seemed really down.
I walked into the class room and saw Seth, Nate and Faye. I headed over to the back where they were sitting and gave Seth a high five as I passed him. I sat down beside Faye and then she pointed over to me.
“Him?” she asked Nate. She didn’t even look over yet.
“YES!” Nate yelled and started clapping his hands.
Man, was I ever confused.
Faye reached out and slapped Nate across the head. It sounded like it would hurt cause of the noise.
“OW! What was that for?!” Nate asked Faye rubbing his head.
“For being an idiotic moron.” Faye replied sounding amused.
“Do you always fight with people?” I asked her.
She turned around to look at me and then she groaned.
‘What? Man she was confusing, yet…at the same time she was rather…intriguing, so to speak.’
“Nice to see you too.” I replied rolling my eyes. “Anyway, getting back to my question, do you always fight with people?”
“Err…depends?” she replied and then took out her iPod.
“Right, that’s why you were fighting with that jock guy this morning. That’s also why you pushed me earlier and on Friday and that’s also why you were just fighting with Nate just now.”
“Who are you?” she asked me.
‘Okay? Guess she doesn’t remember me?”
“Uhm…Phoenix.” I replied confused then glanced over at Seth and Nate who both looked confused.
She rolled her eyes and then put an ear bud in her ear and turned the iPod on. She put a song on and then turned the volume all the way up. The song was by Avenged Sevenfold called A Little Piece of Heaven, I knew the song right away.
“Before the story begins, is it such a sin, for me to take what's mine, until the end of time? We were more than friends, before the story ends, and I will take what's mine, create what God would never design.” I started singing to the song.
“Dude, seriously, you have a good voice.” Seth said to me.
“Ha ha, thanks.” I replied.
“You should totally sing that song at one of your gigs. It would be sweet, but…you would have to change your voice like they do in the song.” Seth replied.
“Well, that’s part of what makes the song so great.” I responded.
I looked over at Faye and she was humming along to the song. It was kind of cute. Wait…what? I only just met her Friday. What the fuck?
The second bell rang and took me out of my thoughts and to the teacher.
Nate turned around to look at Faye. It seemed as if he kicked her under the desk lightly anyway.
“What?” she hissed at him.
“You were day dreaming. Class is started.” he replied quietly.
“Whatever,” she replied turning her music down but keeping an ear bud in her ear.
Ms. Mason, the art teacher of ours, talked about what we would be doing this year and then assigned us an assignment with the person sitting next to us. Something about ‘getting to know the person.’ After Ms. Mason finished describing the project she set us off to work.
“Alright class, so get asking your partner questions now.” then the class began chattering away.
“So,” I began not sure as to where to start. Courses would be good; I could maybe see if I had classes with her? But…I’d have to relate it some how…
“What courses are you taking?” I asked her.
“Uhm…what does this have to do with the assignment?” she asked me confused.
“Seeing if any of the courses are interesting to you.” I replied. Smooth. “Plus, I’m curious.” Err…not so smooth, what if she would accuse me?
“Well, I’m taking Art, obviously, Math, Fashion, Drama, Bio and Family Studies. The only classes that really interest me are Art, Fashion and Drama. How about you?” she asked me, not sounding curious at all.
“Auto, Art, English, History, PE, Math.” I replied to her. Next question…maybe ask about her family? “What’s your family like?” I asked her.
“Uhm…” she seemed kind of…reluctant to tell. “Well…I’m an only child. My parents are…not together.” her voice started to break here. Nate got up from his seat and gave Faye a hug.
I was confused as fuck.
“Don’t ask about her family, please.” Nate said looking over at me. Trying to comfort Faye.
“Ow,” Nate replied suddenly. I seemed to have missed something.
“Oh common,” Faye replied sounding rather amused. “Thanks Nate.”
“Of course, but seriously,” Nate paused then looked over at me and Seth. He bent down and whispered in Faye’s ear.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” Nate shouted out in the middle of the class after Faye said something to him. Everyone turned to look at him.
“YOU! GO TO THE OFFICE NOW!” Ms. Mason shouted at Nate.
“Fuck off.” two simple words that Faye said to the teacher she looked back over at Nate and he smiled.
“BOTH OF YOU! OFFICE! NOW!” she yelled at the both of them.
The picked their stuff out and headed for the door. Before either of them got there though I felt a tap on my shoulder and Faye whispered to me.
“Hey, sorry about that. My family…is a bit of an issue for me to talk about at the moment. Please don’t ask me again though.”
She seemed kind of depressed. Fuck, what did I do?
With that whisper she and Nate left the class room.
I turned to look at Seth and he too was just as confused as I was.
“You two, work together and the other two will work together tomorrow now.” Ms. Mason said to Seth and I.
“Okay,” both of us said at once while I got up out of my seat to sit in Nate’s previous seat.
“So…who’s your favorite band?” Seth asked me.
“Three Days Grace,” I replied. “How about yours?” I asked him.
“MSI,” he responded to me.
Throughout the class we asked each other all sorts of questions and wrote some of the answers down. When class was done we went to our next class and I had a spare so I went and sat in the cafeteria blasting my iPod when I saw Nick and a few of his friends come in, they were all talking amongst themselves.. Jessie was also with him, great. I rolled my eyes at the thought.
“Hey Phoenix,” Nick greeted me with Jessie clinging to him.
“Hey Nick,” I greeted him back.
“Hey, listen, I have class, but I thought I should introduce you to a few guys here since they all have spare.” he replied to me.
“Sure,” I replied back as the other guys were still talking amongst themselves and Jessie was tapping her foot, jeeze she was a bitch.
“Alright, well this is Kevin, James and Jayden.” he introduced his friends to me. “Guys, this is Phoenix.”
“Hey, Pheonix! Good to see you again.” Jayden said to me.
“Wait, you two already know each other?” Nick asked confused.
“Yea, we met this morning when Jeff and I met up with Seth.” Jayden replied.
“Oh,” Nick replied.
“Hey, Nick, get to class. It’s the first day, don’t be skipping just yet.” I teased Nick. I knew he was a skipper, that was why he was back this year.
“Shut up,” he responded and then walked away with Jessie still attached. “See ya,” he called.
The three guys all started talking amongst themselves and I began looking around because it seemed akward. I saw Faye walking down the hall outside.
“Hey, guys, I’ll catch you all later.” I said as I ran out the cafeteria doors. I went unnoticed. Completely. I ran over to Faye and tapped her shoulder.
She turned around and looked at me curiously.
“Hey, uhm, I wanted to apologize.” I began.
“Forget it.” she replied to me.
Okay? Just like that?
“I’m really sorry,” I began again.
“Fuck off.” she responded bitterly and turned around to walk away.
I grabbed her arm and turned around.
“What?” she snapped.
“Forget it.” I replied and turned around.
Childish, maybe, but the way she was staring and the way she snapped really wasn’t all that pleasant. I mean, yea, she still looked hot and all but…I don’t think I wanted to mess with her.
“Wait, Pheonix.” she responded. “Sorry,” she muttered. I turned around to look at her but she was looking at the ground.
I didn’t know what to say and it seemed as if she didn’t either.
“I’m…gonna go.” she responded and then turned to walk in the other direction.
“Where are you going?” I asked her. “I can walk you to class, you know, as friends.” I responded.
“I’m going to the library. No class. I have a spare.” she responded still walking in the direction of the library, I guess.
“Why are you going to the library?” I questioned. Wow, that…was stupid.
“A book.” she responded. Then she turned to face me with total amusement on her face. “Cause, you know. There’s a magical place called the library. They have these things with a front cover and a back cover with text in between that tells people a story. They’re called books.”
I wanted to laugh, but I thought I’d amuse her a bit longer. She looked childish, but it was still hot.
“WOW!” I responded matching her amusement. “What do you do with them?!” I asked pretending as if I didn’t know.
“Well, you READ them.” she responded still amused. “Now, smart people, like me, know how to read books. However, silly people, like you, don’t. They prefer picture books because then they can imagine a story using pictures.” she responded and then she started giggling.
I couldn’t help it but I started laughing with her.
“Wow, that was great.” I responded.
“Common,” she said grabbing my arm and pulling me.
I followed and then we were at the library, not inside yet. She looked inside and then continued walking.
“Erm…weren’t you going to the library?” I asked confused.
“Originally, but…” she trailed off still pulling me.
She took us outside and to the bleachers by the soccer and football field.
“Why the sudden change?” I asked her confused.
“What do you mean?” she asked me.
“Well…” I paused trying to figure out how to phrase it.
“Be completely honest.”
“Uhh…” I paused again.
“Okay, you thought I was a bitch, right?” she asked me.
“Uhm…” I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.
“Everyone has that impression.” she replied to me. “Some people think it’s because of events that happened last year. Only Cady and Nate know why though.” she paused. “Listen, about my family—” I interrupted her.
“You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to.”
“No, I have to deal with it though.” she paused and I stayed silent. “Last year, my mom was diagnosed with some kind of disease. The doctor’s weren’t sure as to what it was. However, it had her in hospital for about a year. It was really…well…horrible doesn’t describe anything close to it. Sometimes, she would be in and out of the hospital. I said she was in for about a year because she was constantly in and out, but she was more in than anything else. It was horrible. Some times she’d be happy go lucky, all healthy and energetic. Next minute, she’d be…well, sick or something.” she paused again. She started hugging her knees and it sounded as if she was crying. Next thing I knew, I was trying to comfort her. “Mom passed away in the summer.” she said, her voice trembling. “No one was really around then, my father became an alcoholic while mom was going back and fourth. He…didn’t realize what I was going through, he still doesn’t. Cady and Nate only just moved back here…their mom has been great since they moved back though. She’s been my second mom for years. That’s…basically where all my ‘bitchy-ness’ came from. I needed to…express myself in someway.” she paused again. “People, think it’s another reason though. They think it’s because of John, the jock, from this morning. I’m sure Nick might’ve told you something about all that. From Friday night.” she paused again but didn’t start up again.
“Listen, yes, Nick did tell me about…John.” I think she heard the sneer in my voice because she hide a giggle. “About what happened,” I paused. I didn’t know what to say. None of my friends ever lost a parent and neither did I. Sure a few of my friends had divorced parents, but that was nothing compared to actually never being able to see a parent of yours ever again.
“Don’t,” she responded and looked over at me. She was crying, her eyes were wet and her eyeliner was running. “Please don’t give me the ‘sorry for your loss’ shit.” she said quietly. I wanted to kiss her…what? Instead I gave her a hug and she hugged back.
For the rest of the period we sat there silently with the odd bit of conversation. Some of it was just to get to know each other or just talk about stuff that has happened recently. When the bell rang I walked her to her next class, but first to the washroom so she could fix her makeup up. After I walked to my next class. When I got there I ignored everything and listened to my iPod and just thought about what had just happened. I was falling for her, and I knew it.
A/N: Wow, apparently I wrote quite a bit. Anyway, so here's the next chapter. Not edited and jazz. Anyway, just a little die note because I thought of it while writing. One of the characters in this chapter (though not a big part) is in memory of one of my friends. I won't tell you who or anything like that as I don't feel like talking much about it at the moment. I just thought I'd get it out there anyway. So, that's about it for now. Next chapter may take a little while, but...who knows. We'll see.
