1Fairy Tale.

A quiet desperation building on her face

Busted up-and-out Cinderella in white stockings and a blue dress

With blood leaking from where the earing tore out.

Because when she ran away the prince moved on to a not-so-ugly stepsister in pink lipstick

And the blue-eyed-superficial baby was left out in the cold

And the pumpkin faded away at dawn.

And the mice ran off to pick up their own pieces.

And ripped jeans and brown socks and, and, and.

As the happy-glass ending lost out to reality.
