Chapter 19 is here and late. So sorry, but I've been swamped with work and I had a close cousin who almost died.
Anyway here is the next chapter and I hope you like it.
deadlyprincess - thanks for the compliment, I always tried to leave on a cliffhanger cause thats how I roll. LOL. I want Celeste too return to normal too, but I need her to be a horsey for just a bit longer. Not too much though. Maybe next chapter she'll be on two legs. LOL.
Twilight Starr - Thanks for all the reviews you did, also I believe you did all my editing for me. LOL. Yes, my chapters are riddled with mistakes and I plan on fixing them soon. But thank you for all your help because you've given me a major advantage now. As for the vampire's get, it does make sense in a way, olden days people use to call children fathered, their gets. I was trying to go for the same in that chapter. Anyway, thanks soo much for you're reviews. It is much appreciated.
KiraLove - LOL. Yes, me for president. Oh, what a horror that would be. As for my wedding, I know it'll work out. I just think I might be a nut case by that time though! LOL, I thank you for the beautiful compliment and I hope you like this chapter too!
pinkeclipse - soon, hopefully next chapter. I wanted Celeste to stay a animal at least for the reunion with her father.
Mayu-San-Sakura - Glad you laughted alot, unless of it was because it was sooo bad. LOL. THanks for the review. Please keep it up!
Chapter 19
“Where did Celeste and Stephanie go?” rising up onto her legs, Mallory noted the absence of the two.
Damien quickly followed suit, his heart giddy with excitement at having found Mallory after all these years.
It was bound to happen that he would be pleased to see the missing woman who for years he imagined he was in love with.
“I guess they went on ahead.” was his reply even though his mind was elsewhere.
Mallory shook her head with a bemused smile before commenting, “Yeah, she was in a hurry to return.”
Damien looked to Mallory with soft eyes of remembrance.
This was Aiden’s missing pair.
The love of his own youth and the woman who had shown such warmth and caring to him when no one else would.
He had spent years searching for her and instead stumbled by chance upon his own beauteous pair.
His heart should have melted in love for her as it did twenty years ago, but oddly enough it was only happy to have found her. Sure there was a measure of love and affection for this woman before him, but not anywhere near the caring he had for her daughter.
Somehow she had crept into his guarded emotions and stolen his heart..
Celeste.
Celeste, with her beautiful silvery hair and jewel eyes.
Celeste with her amusing antics and foul disposition if crossed.
She looked like an angel and fought like the devil.
She was perfect…well except for the fact that she was currently a large animal.
Funny how Celeste never explained why she was a unicorn.
“Why is Celeste a mythical unicorn?” Damien asked Mallory. She should know since she too was held prisoner.
Mallory appeared startled as she glanced quickly at the vampire from her youth.
“She didn’t tell you?”
Shaking his head negative induced a rather large sigh from the female and added to his immense curiosity.
What hadn’t Celeste told him? What was she hiding?
“I cannot tell you if she didn’t, that would be disloyal.” Her face was regretful as she refused to elaborate.
Running a hand quickly through his locks, he grimaced as it got tangled into the excess.
Perhaps I should cut it. He wondered to himself before realizing he had side tracked himself.
Instead of thinking about his hair style, he should be finding Celeste and demanding an answer out of her.
He knew personally, that Mallory was stubborn and would never say if she choose not to. Which was exactly what she was doing, the stubborn woman.
As the realization flashed in his brain, horror shaped his handsome visage.
“What’s wrong?” his mother-in-law to be asked worried as she watched the expressions shift across his usually cold face.
Damien’s golden eyes were bleak with knowledge and acceptance.
“I just realized Celeste is just like you!” japing a finger in her direction, his tone was accusing.
Gasping in befuddlement, Mallory wondered when exactly did Damien lose his mind.
Celeste was currently looking into the darkest ebony eyes she had ever seen.
Pressed nose to nose as she was, she of course knew that even the blackest of night wasn’t as dark as those eyes.
Who was this man?
He didn’t have the eyes of a vampire nor the tall intimidating height of one.
His hair was the midnight black of the rest of the clan but peppered with a small sprinkling of silver and his body was very muscular, so he would of coarse be strong.
Somehow though, Celeste sensed that even though he didn’t quite fit the typical vampire mold, he was still one.
Casting a quick glance downward confirmed what her heart already told her.
Yep, the dude had fangs. He was a vampire and of coarse he was handsome. Weren’t all vampire breathtakingly perfect?
The stranger slowly peeled his own good looks away from hers before casting her an unreadable glance.
“When did Damien acquire a rare unicorn?” he asked with a beautiful lilting voice complete with accent.
Such a beautiful voice. Celeste thought as her body melted at it’s sound.
“Eh…Funny thing is, I don’t remember him ever having one, boss.” A squeaky voice answered the stranger.
Celeste looked to the doorway and was surprised to see a human standing near the car with what could only be described as a terrified look on his plump face.
The human, how exactly she knew he was human beats her, was a short well rounded man with ironed khaki pants and striped shirt.
His hair was thinning in the front and his eyes were tiny little specks of blue in an otherwise uninteresting face. His eyebrows were incredibly bushy and Celeste briefly wondered if this was an offspring of Oscar the Grouch.
He was a nerd too from the look of the black briefcase clutched in his pasty white hands and the pocket protector jammed in his shirt pocket.
“That’s interesting then.” The stranger before her replied as his face studied the elegant lines of her form.
Then snapping his fingers quickly, his voice was majestic in his declaration. “Then find out who own her and buy.”
The nerdy human nodded quickly, his jugular working up and down as he struggled to find a piece of paper to write on.
“YOU can’t buy her!” Stephanie, who had been quickly forgotten and unnaturally quiet, yelled out defiantly.
The stranger swept his dark gaze to the child causing Celeste to step back a nervous pace.
“Is she yours?” the man asked softly, his voice once more sinking into Celeste’s body.
What a harmonic voice!
“No. She belongs to no one.” The child stated as she straightened her back with a spine of steel.
“Excellent then, she’ll belong to me.” Celeste blinked at the audacity and opened her mouth to let him have it.
“You can’t.” Stephanie sure was being her knight in bratty armor.
The man just stared for a few minutes with a lifted brow.
“Really, child. You make no sense. Either way, I’ll buy her if I must. Why, I’ll make the unicorn a present to my daughter.” His voice hadn’t risen once throughout the whole encounter.
“Enough!” Celeste shouted loudly, before Stephanie could reply.
She was tired of being talked about as if she wasn’t here. So what if she was in an animal form, she was still intelligent.
“I belong to no one, least of all you, sir.” Firmly she sat him straight as the human looked ready to run for the hills.
I guess the man never knew unicorns could talk.
As for the stranger, he didn’t even seem surprised by her neat little talking trick.
In fact, his face held a slight smile and his eyes twinkled.
Talk about a weirdo.
“Herald, it seems this little creature is intelligent.” He stated with an infuriating grin on his face.
Little?! Did he not realize she was three times his size and twice the height?
The human with the bad style, nervously nodded his head to the stranger, confirming his identify as Herald.
What type of mother would name a child such a horrible name? She wondered aloud.
“Geez, mister your momma must not have liked you much.” Stephanie choose that moment to once again speak out.
The child should be gagged. The thought flashed her harried mind and she gaze a firm nod of her oversize head in silent agreement.
The stranger still continued to take in her unicorn form for a few moments, his eyes missing nothing.
Opening his mouth to perhaps say another backhanded insult, Celeste was happy and annoyed at the voice that interrupted.
“Sir!” the grating voice screeched from within the manse doorway.
Sure enough, casting a quick glance in the direction found Celeste facing the she-devil of the building.
Yep, in all her glory there stood Miranda, in a yet another clinging velvet gown of ill suited portions.
Hell, it seemed to Celeste that at any moment the woman might pop out of her top if she happened to breathe to deeply.
The sheathed woman as usual glided down towards the gentleman (she uses that term loosely), her face was a frightful picture of joy.
If that was a smile then she should be wearing a paper bag on her head, at least till Christmas.
“We have been anxiously waiting for your return!” she exclaimed before doing what she does best; attacking herself permanently to a free arm in similar mannerisms of a leech.
The stranger’s sardonic grin quickly turned down into a grimace of displeasure as he promptly set about dislodging the new and unwanted appendage.
Celeste could almost swear she could her the suction cups of her tentacles pop as she was forcible wrenched away.
For good measure the man stepped back a few feet away as he straightened his wrinkled clothing, while ignoring the pout that appeared on her plush lips.
“Where is my daughter?” the man curtly asked once finished with his appearance.
Celeste’s head darted back and forth an avid prospector in the conversation that apparently wasn’t favored by Miranda.
Well if the dangerous narrowing of her eyes could count for any opinion on the topic.
“Not here at the moment, but if you would perhaps join me for drinks we can get further acquainted.” The whinny tone was like nails on a chalk board.
Shaking his head no the man silently declined before turning back to the spectators.
“Really Sir, I’m positive you’ll enjoy yourself.” Of coarse her voice was laced with all kinds of promises as the woman tried to direct the man to her bidding.
“Really Lady, get it through your thick skull. He….doesn’t….want….to.” the child’s voice dragged the last out, as if she was speaking to a toddler.
Which was pretty much correct in this case.
Celeste closed her eyes in disbelief.
No way would Miranda let this slight go unpunished, she was just that petty.
Miranda gasped loudly at the affront before taking in the two.
Celeste did have to admit that Miranda only showed slight surprise at seeing a unicorn on the lawn, but then again that was probably because she had been insulted.
Her yellow eyes had narrowed down to the familiar slits she more often wore when in a snit and Celeste noticed her hands were clenched tight.
“Don’t stick your nasty nose in grown up business.” She told Stephanie tightly, her body rigid with tension as she eyed the child up and down.
Her lips lifted in a disgusted manner after a few moments of eyeballing the girl.
Her face was decidedly ugly with that revolted sneer on her on her face.
“You’re a mutt…like that chit, Tina. Get yourself gone to your dog house, beast!” she snarled with a vicious look and a raised hand.
Celeste could feel Stephanie tense on top of her back, and Celeste wondered for a moment if the child would attack the vampire for the blatant insult.
Both the stranger with the dark eyes and Celeste stood quietly, watching the interaction.
The little child, full of the impetuous bravo all children possess, leaned forward onto Celeste neck with a serious expression.
“Were you perhaps dropped onto your head?”
Mentally closing her eyes in disbelief at the child’s pride, Celeste knew she would be once more facing off with the vampires.
“You little bitch!” the she devil squealed in outrage before launching herself bodily towards the kid.
Her long fingers were curled into vicious claws, the intent to do harm obvious in her aggressive move.
Before Celeste even made a motion to stop the viper, the stranger stepped forward and firmly grasped the lifted hand.
The vampires turned with a disbelieving look on her face towards the man.
“Why would you protect such impertinence and rudeness?” she demanded harshly, her face no longer pulled into a façade of sweetness before him.
He had already witnessed her violence and attitude and she would not behoove him to her.
“She is just a child, and I plan on presenting that animal to Celeste.” the man stated quietly, not realizing the impact his words would cause her.
Celeste’s mystical gaze widened to the size of china saucers at his words and her mind instantly began wondering who exactly this man was to her.
Prepared to demand just that, her actions were delayed at the untimely arrival of her pair and mother, the two looking quiet cozy in each others arms as they landed softly before themselves.
“Just peachy.” The unicorn muttered angrily not realizing that the stranger was too observed in the profile of Mallory to give comment much attention.
His face had become one of awe, his mouth hanging open, as he looked at the woman like he would look at a ghost.
“Mallory?” the stranger whispered in strangled voice, almost like he was having trouble speaking.
Mallory herself, stopped short from approaching Celeste and Stephanie, her face going pale at the knowledge of his presence.
She looked like she would rather be back at the complex being beaten than face this dark eyed vampire.
The wheels in her head seemed to turn for a few moments, before she finally gave the man a regal nod in acknowledgment.
“Adrien.”
“Whoa.” Was all Celeste seemed able to say as she realized the implications of what was going on.
Before her stood a stranger with such dark obsidian eyes and that stranger was her father.
“Hey, Celeste..your dad is like totally hot!” Stephanie cried out gaily, quickly having forgotten her own interaction with Miranda.
The stranger turned to Stephanie his dark eyes, unbelievably darker.
“Celeste?” he inquired in his sensual voice. “Where is my daughter?”
Celeste, finding her voice had abandoned her during her time of need, could only stand there nervously. Her large body shaking from the apprehension.
Damien, having been a quiet observer, finally felt the need to step closer to the silvery unicorn.
With a big shit eating grin, he attempted to wrap an arm around Celeste’s large neck.
“This is your daughter, Celeste.” He said with great theatrics and aplomb.
Celeste would have happily kicked him..hard….but at the moment she was more interested in her father and how he would greet her.
The stranger….no…Aiden, let his eyebrow wing itself far into his hairline as a look of disbelief etched his face.
“This a joke?” he asked simply and suddenly Celeste wanted to kick him too.
Luckily or unluckily, it depends on how you look at it, Mallory with all the rage a protective mother could possess came alive with fury.
Swiftly, she came swooping in and dealt the man a knee to his stomach.
“Ouch.” Damien, Celeste, Stephanie, Miranda, and nerd boy said in unison as they watch the handsome face fill with pain.
That's it for now, I hope everyone reviews this chapter. Please let me know what you think!
