Twas Midnight
By: Erin Rae Coleman
Twas midnight and the children’s stomachs did grumble and growl in the night all hungry were the children and they got up for a midnight bite
Beware the parents little sister the mouth that yells the eyes that stare
Beware the dog and stairs the loudest noises of both
They took the yummy food in hand long time the delicious sweetness they had
So scared they by the parent that yell and scream in the night
And as in frightened thought they stood the children with frightened glances
Come parents through the kitchen door and running as they came screaming out there names one two one two and through and through
