She sits alone, her studious pose never wavers

She sits alone, her studious pose never wavers

Her eyes slide easily across the page

She eats idly, her attention never leaving the page

Un-distracted

For a brief moment her eyes glance across towards mine

A previously absent smile crosses her lips

The subconscious interaction is a comfort

Set against the solitude of her study

Her eyes smile more than her lips

She packs up to leave after checking her watch

A brief moment in time

Forgotten instantly?

Or clinging to us like a thin veil of belonging?
