there’s someone here today,
someone tapping at the windows
of my adventurous side.
they leer invitingly, teeth glinting
off the scatterings of snow
left over from the last blizzard.
I recognize myself in the mirror today,
those sparkling eyes and smiling lips,
and I discover I’m ready
to take
the
leap.
