Walking to a Funeral
All the people walk down the street
Go into the shops
Go to work
Go about their lives as usual
And none of them know me
I walk among them
But no one knows how I feel
I wonder if anyone knew you
Knew you in your life
Or know about your death
I wonder if I’m the only one
Walking around
Barely conscious
As I think about you
Walking to a funeral
It is filled with so much pain
Looking around at all those smiles
All the children, full of life
And then thoughts come back to you
And all the life around me
Reminds me of how your life,
The one that really mattered,
Is gone.
