a solitary yellow Tulip stands

alone above a garden's centerpiece,

gaudy Rebel of red brick paths, demands,

in tall, singsong colors, order's release.

captive eye unchained in breezy bright whims,

lavish the lovely rebel in dream-thought,

pass by, humming, full of the Tulip's hymns,

self-assured he assures myself, distraught,

every hour's sunlight another dance...

cosmic, alone, together, slow...and quick...

sway to the Tulip's hymn, another chance

to deck myself in colors electric.

I felt the spring Tulip's yellow laughter,

and I will sing yellow ever after.
