Life is like a staircase

Though quite a strange one I admit

With uneven steps, that trip you up and annoy you just a bit

Like those times when the steps were wide and flat and you sprinted up with a yell

Till the one that was higher than the rest, remember when you fell?

Are times you are weary and the steps are high and steep

While other times, you take the lift, to rest your tired feet

Around you others climb the stairs with ease or troubled minds

You help each other find a path, for there are many different kinds

Your lifelong goal, to reach the top may seem impossible

But think, some old guys are still climbing, and they’re almost fossils!

So never think, oh never think, that it can’t be done

It is a long road, though, so you might as well have fun!
