Heavy wind ran through my hair while I stood on your porch.

The light flickered on in the presence of our beings.

The sky above was dark in the midnight torch

And a flame could be seen between you and I.

We were in our true forms, that night.

I had pretended I was a princess for the beginning of the night.

Going home, I changed into my normal peasantry clothing

Of denim daisy dukes and Boston College flip flops.

Your tux made you look quite dashing, as though you were made for it.

The satin of your pink vest, that I insisted on, glittered in the hint of moonlight.

I could not tear my eyes from the sight of you,

And your eyes were fixed lazily on my own.

Your gallantry and chivalry are quite the contrast to my own behavior.

Holding doors for everyone behind us as we enter a restaurant is kind of cute.

But I am unworthy of your gaze, your loving stare.

And I would much like to know why you want to stay with me.

For hours that seemed like minutes went by on that porch

Holding your hands and holding your gaze.

We knew it would not be long before we would part for a week.

And not lay our eyes on each other.

I miss you now more than I want to.

I don’t fall like this, but the fact is, I can’t get you out of my head.

Everything I do, I feel as though it is worthless until you’re here

Back within my arms and within my eyes.

It’s been 3 years of this whole, I love you, I love you not ordeal.

I cannot decide if I want prince charming.

I cannot decide if I want this beautiful being that I think about constantly,

Or if I’m too worried someone better will come around.

Committing myself to you would not be hard to do

If not for the several sayings that young love never lasts forever.

But say we were to last until we die.

Say, that when I tell you that I will love you always

I mean forever, eternity, perpetuity.

My enchantment, you have placed me under your spell

Oh, the spell of your sparkling blue eyes.

The spell of your beautiful voice that serenaded me while we danced

The spell of the fire within your soul that engulfs my own

And sends us staring, into the morning hours of the AM twilight…
