I won’t

I won’t.

7:44- 8:08 pm 4-22-08

I miss you

Deeper than a weekend

Or summer vacation.

Because I guess I know

It’s final.

I won’t see you

When the week is over

And I make the long ride home.

I won’t speed down Brownlee Road

In a rush to be in your arms.

I won’t even sneak into where you work

Just to see your unassuming smile.

Even church is going to be hard.

I won’t stretch out my arm

And drape it over your shoulder,

Running my fingers through your hair.

I won’t blush when you breathe down my neck.

My heart won’t race when I feel your naked body

Close against mine.

I won’t fall asleep into safety.

No arms to hold me close.

I won’t float in the water

With my body wrapped around you.

I won’t smile softly when you

Bathe me by candlelight.

I won’t eat at my favorite restaurant

Because there are just too many memories.

I won’t be lain down on a bed of roses

Like I always dreamed about.

I miss you and

I won’t be the same.
