Seasonal Haikus
By Laura Schiller
Spring
If I spread my coat
And run in the bright new grass,
Could I, maybe, fly?
Summer
Golden ice cream flows
Lazily down my fingers:
A sticky blessing.
Autumn
Red and yellow leaves
Dance around me with the wind,
Nature’s wild ballet.
Winter
A handful of snow,
Thrown into the light, sparkles
Like powdered sugar.
