Waking up.

Chapter three

I know, this story really sucks! But it’s my first manga, maybe my last. Luvs ya all!! I drew really cute pics for this story, wish you guys could see them :

When Kimi's father picked her up from school in his cruiser, the pain had already started. She seen Hashiko on the way out and, through her gritted teeth, assured her that everything was alright. In truth, the pain in her chest was nearly unbearable, like her heart was bleeding.

"Do you need to go to the doctors," Was the first thing her father asked after she got into the front seat. Kimi shook her head, unable to trust her voice.

"Are you sure?" She nodded.

"All right," he sighed. Kimi's pain was so strong, and it was unusually hot for winter. She let her eyes flutter, then close.

In Kimi’s dream, there was dark all around, except for some kind of darkness. It was so hot for a normal dream, after the last few weeks, Kimi wasn't sure if this was a dream, she couldn't remember what they felt like because in sleep, she only replayed the memory of the day her mother died. If only she'd done this or hadn't done that, it was all her fault. There was a sudden pain in her already burning hot arm; she fought the urge to cry out.

As Kimi looked down, she seen something and screamed slightly, not very loud. She was on fire, she was burning. She didn't fight away the tears, it was her fault her mother was dead and her fault that her mother was a disgrace, karma was finally kicking in for the day she was born. I'll be with you mother. She closed her eyes.

The day she started school...

"Mommy, do I have to?" Kimi asked at the age five.

"Yes, sweetie, you have to," Her mother laughed slightly. Little Kimi looked into the class room, all the parents were staring.

"But..." Kimi sniveled.

"Don't worry, I'll be here to pick you up later," She smiled.

"Promise?"

"I Cross my heart and if I lie, poke a needle in my eye. Now will you go?"

"Yes, but, do I have to poke a needle in your eye?" They both started to laugh.

"I'll make sure you don't." Her mother hugged her

And that...

...seems to be...

...the safest place...

..In a mothers arm...

...My mother.

LATER

Kimi woke up feeling fuzzy and nauseated, she stared at the roof until her sight became un blurred, she was in her room. For some odd reason, she felt pressure on her right arm and she looked down to see the one thing she hated the most...A needle; Kimi had an IV in her arm. Quickly, before thinking, she yanked it out and threw it across her bed.

"Hm?" she heard from the door way of her room. There seemed to be a man with black hair, a white coat, and a thick file, looking up at her. He was clearly a doctor, and one she had seen many of times.

"Doctor Shiro?" she asked confusedly. He was her doctor when...when she still lived with her mother, what was he doing her?

"That's right, your new doctor told me what happened and, of course, I came rushing down her to help a poor innocent girl in trouble whose new doctor needed her record. Besides, who else were you expecting? A hot American nurse?" He had a smile on his face that just about reached his eyes.

"A hot American nurse? Would that get you out of my room so that I can get dress?" Kimi joked back, swinging her feet over the edge.

"Oh, wait kiddo, you have to stay put, we still don't know what you have," he looked at the IV, "And that's got to go back in."

"You aren’t getting that thing back in me again, not while I can kick, it's just no necessary," She said stubbornly.

"Oh, I'm sure your new doctor will have something to say, speaking of which, I wonder where she is, I'll have to go check," He turned and left, "Oh, and, don't leave," He added.

Kimi, being...well...Kimi had all her strength set on the door, and escaping, until someone, or someone’s, blocked it.

"I thought I heard something in here," Hashiko smiled, "Didn't I tell you Kio?"

"Yes oh mighty seer," He smiled back as he mocked her.

"What are you guys doing here?" Kimi asked, confused.

"Visiting you of course, with our mom. You’ve been out for four days," Kio stated.

"No, I meant, wh- four days?!"

"Yes, and that IV is going back in," said a woman coming out from behind Kio and Hashiko. She was pretty; probably American, or English, but she spoke fluent Japanese.

"Your Hashiko and Kioko's mom, aren’t you?" Kimi asked, remembering the picture.

"Yep, nice to finally meet you, sorry I wasn’t there the morning you came over but, being a doctor, you know?" she smiled politely.

"D-does it has to go in?" Kimi whined, sort of.

"It's Saturday, you just broke a fever in three minutes, and you need your rest."

Yeah, but..."

"You know that I know you can't sit still on your own, look at this file," she held up a medical file, "Broken nose at the age of three, broken leg at five from falling down a tree, nearly drowned to death, broken arm, nose again, leg-"

"Well, she was always clumsy," Murmured doctor Shiro.

"- other arm, two ribs, dislocated shoulder four times, tonsils removed, surgery on a busted pancreas, nearly poisoned by food, appendicitis...do you want me to go on, I'm only up to age nine, your latest is the metal rod it your leg for breaking it again."

Kimi just sat there and smiled, "I'll make you a deal, if I go back to bed, or at least stay in bed, no IV?"

Kio's mom stared for a second, and then smiled, "Promise?"

"Cross my heart..." Her face fell, "Promise."

"Well then, yes," and she walked back down, everyone else fallowing her, but Shiro smiled at her first and whispered something like "I like her," then disappearing, closing the door behind him, I hope he knows that she's married. About this time was when Kimi noticed something she should have noticed in the beginning...where was her dad?
