Our Star-Boats

For once we sailed across the stars
like kings,
and our courts covered all the sky
for days.
We took our leave of the star-boats
before long,
leaving all our courtiers behind like
faraway seasons.

Faraway seasons
bring back memories of those skies;
before long
we are out again reclaiming our stars
for days
before we remember how old we are.
Like kings.
We choose to dance across the night anyway.
