Well, my name, for one, is Kammi Partason. I guess I should give a description of myself, huh? Where to start... uh, I'm 5'4 or 5'3, I think... well, last time I checked I was around there... I may have shrunken. I weigh like... what, 120 - 130? Anyway, it's normal and i look good, so deal with it. I don't wanna be so f-cking skinny that I look like I'm going to break my f-cking backbone if I lean over my paper at school. -- Seriously. My hair is straight, which annoys the hell out of me, thank you very much. "Oooh I wish i had hair like yours, my hair is so CURLY AND BEAUTIFULL! D: I hate it! I'd rather have dry ugly straight hair like YOURS!" I swear, that's all I hear... nah, i exaggerate. Plus, I'm told that no one likes their own hair.
Anyway, my hair is dark brown and I have really cool bangs that i love. (At least I like my bangs, huh?) I always accent my clothes with black something, whether it's shoes, everything but a bracelet, a shirt, or a skirt. I only have blue jeans, for some reason.
Ok, well that about sums that part up, and I think I should start the story now... oh, wait, I'm a sophomore in high school and I just recently turned 16. There. Perfect.

To start off, my friends are anime freaks. Nothing against it, seriously, but I really don't like any of that crap. No offense. But that always makes my friends call me weird names like "Kai-chan" and "Kai-sempai" and so on. Just because I can draw anime, they think I should all the time... losers. It's a cartoon, seriously! I'd rather waste my time on something I actually would enjoy, like tennis or drama. Actually, I'd rather walk for days on some wild adventure.
Well, that's exactly what happened.

I live in Maine, the crappiest state I know of. Snows all winter, and half of fall and spring. And as soon as the snow is gone, it's hot as hell and there is no air conditioning usually at all. Especially not in our school. 'Course, our school is crap, anyway.
My school just recently was renovated so we have all new stuff. Better lockers, really. i love them, but other than that, it's not really much of an improvement. Oh, wait, no, we got new computers too. But they have vista... Damn, I'm not gunna ever start this stupid story, am I?

"Kai-chan!! KAI!" I heard Allie scream at me as I dragged my feet down the road.
"What..?!" I grumbled, turning to look at her. It was 6:30am and i was walking to school. The stupid school system decided just recently that you had to live at least 2-3 miles away from the school (if you're in high school) to be able to ride a bus. Well, we lived about 2 1/2, but they just completely ignored us. Took forever to get to school, too.
"You ready for this, Kammi? Are you?" Allie asked me while she grinned her silly little grin. I rolled my eyes.
"Ready for what? This early? What's your problem?" I huffed at her and adjusted my heavy backpack (it must have carried about 7 books, I swear. One for each necessary class. The other 3 didn't need books.)
"We're getting a new student!" She sang at me. I looked up at her, actually surprised for once.
"What? For real? In the middle of the damn year? What the hell? That's just dumb. How would you even know this??"
"He moved in down the road from me!!" She stated, her grin widening.
"He?" I groaned. "Well, he's not an ass, is he? Most of the guys in our school are asses."
"I don't really know, I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I saw them moving in earlier last week, but I wanted to keep it a surprise." She started skipping like her backpack weighed nothing, when she actually had much more books than I did. The jerk. Mocking me... I'll get her..
"Gah, where's Ava?" I groaned again. Yep, I'm not a morning person.
"Ava's still gone until next week, remember? It's only Thursday, Kammi. You're so forgetful. It's just you, me, and Jakob." Allie said happily.
"Why call him Jakob when that's not his name?" I asked, glaring at her cheeriness.
"Because i love that name!"
"Isn't it a bit distracting to him since that's not his name, and all?"
"Nah, he catches it right away! Don't even worry about it, I'm sure John doesn't mind."
"Sure sure. You never asked if he minded." i muttered under my breath.
"Oh well! He just has to deal with it! Anyway, look! The big hill is coming up! Yay!" Allie cheered at me, all hyperactive and stupid. I groaned. "Hey, at least it's downhill, now stop complaining, Kammi!"
"It's worse than uphill... With this stupid backpack, I'll roll all the way down that damn hill." I stifled a yawn.

Of course, we got there right before the bell rang, as usuall, with just enough time to shove stuff into our lockers and run to homeroom to be the first ones there so we could get the seats in the back. Our homeroom classroom was really small, and there were about 20-30 people in that one class. There are 16 seats, though. Evenly, 4 by 4. So we usually stole the ones in the back. Allie and I talked (or, rather, Allie talked as I grumbled and acted the grouch I always was in the morning) as we waited for John to show up. The bell rang and we looked towards the door. It opened like an explosion went off, and sophomores of P-R filled in stupid fish trying to go the opposite way of the current. John shoved his way through and hoped over seats to get to the back before anyone else. He sat right next to Allie.
"Gah, what a f-cking pain in the ass!" He swore, rubbing his majorly bruised arm. (Someone had pushed him into the door frame, I assume.)
"Watch your mouth!!" Allie burst out, her face growing red in anger. I lifted my eye brow and kinda chuckled at her. My grumpiness was easing away slowly.
"Sorry, but I mean, they should learn to stay calm." He glared about the room, meeting a select few people's eyes.

I think I should explain my friends a little, so you know more about them.
Allie is a hyperactive genius who loves anime, but cant draw worth crap, but that's ok because she can't write worth crap either and she wants to be a lawyer when she grows up, anyway. Don't see how the hell that's gunna work. She keeps changing her future goals, the idiot. Anyway, she has blond brown hair, long and wavy. It's thin, though, and easy to manage, she's said. She cuts it every once in a while and tries new styles with it. She has longish bangs that she sweeps to the sides. She's really short, like 5'1 or something, haha, and in my opinion, underweight. Ugh. She weighs like 110, or 100 or something. (We've been friends since 3rd grade, about.)
John, or Jakob (ew, I hate that spelling), is awesome. First time we saw him we immediately thought "vampire! or maybe werewolf?" because he's not pale enough to be a vampire, but he is definitely hot. We don't like him like that, though. He might be attractive and have a nice personality, but he's not our type. Haha, that's why he likes us so much. Because we don't like him. He's very intimidating, though. He angers easily, but is very gentle most of the time. He's funny and joins our short club for now. He's about 5'9 or something, and for some reason that's... short? I don't get it, but he complains a lot. He's in good shape, really skinny but has a great body so it's alright. He weighs about 160 or something because of his muscles and junk. I don't really know exactly how much he weighs and all of this, I'm estimating. He loves poetry, for some strange unknown reason, loves anime, the idiot, and loves sports. His love of poetry causes him to join me in loving drama, also. He sucks at singing, though. Anyway, that sums him up pretty much. (We met him in junior high) He has short hair, though, the weirdo.
Now, since you haven't met Ava yet, I'm not sure I should introduce her... Oh well, I will.
She's the kind of chick who constantly dyes her hair. It's red and black streaked at the moment, medium and layered. She has bangs too, but more like.. emo bangs? She wears punk clothes, unlike Allie who wears preppyish clothing. She weighs about the same as me, but is a bit taller, causing her to be skinnier than me. She's like 5'7, or something. Anyway, you'll learn more about her later.

"Oh. Wow. Who the hell is that?" I said, pointing someone wandering into the room. Such innocence and wide eyes. Dark hair falling innocently into his face, he brushed it away revealing darkish blue eyes that penetrated and made everyone catch their breath. It became deathly silent as he looked around the room, blinking at us all.
"Ehm, excuse me?" He spoke up, his voice had a slight accent, but I couldn't place it. "I, uh, um... was told to, uh... come into this room... Because my last name starts with a r, and uh... well, you all look younger than me. Would someone please mind telling me... erm... where... to go? I'm assuming you're all freshmen?" He stuttered his way through this whole thing as we stared in awe at him. All except Allie.
"That's him!" She whispered at me while he talked.
But the end of his speech caused an uproar. Everyone started getting all upset.
"Freshmen? What!?"
"Blue-eyed freak, we do NOT look that young!"
"GTFO!"
People were yelling all sorts of things. I shook my head and hopped over a few seats to get over to him.
"Here, " I said, breathless from amazement, "I'll help. Let's just go into the hall, ok?" I gulped in nervousness. He was even more amazing in person. The innocence was still there, but you could tell that he was at least a junior and he was taller than me. Must have been about 5'11, or something.
"Ok, thank you!" He whispered at me in the uproar, a smile of relief spreading across his angelic face, and we went into the hall.
"I'm guessing you're a junior?" I asked him.
"Yep, and from that mess, I'm going to just assume you're all sophomores."
"You assume right. My name's Kammi Partason, by the way," I said, sticking out my hand.
"Ian Ramef, nice to meet you Kammi." he replied, shaking my hand quite greatfully. His hand shaking mine was a little awkward, like he wasn't used to doing such a thing. I raised an eyebrow.
"Ah, so the accent is from England?" I asked.
"Oh. I have an accent? Sorry, I didn't notice." He gave a nervous laugh.
"Why say sorry? Anyway, here. I'll get you to your homeroom so you're not late."
Escorting him to his homeroom, which I knew because it was Ava's older brother's homeroom, I learned a lot about him. It seemed that I was the first person to actually talk to him without being angry or squeaking, which he found weird. I mean, I found it weird also, but that was just because I was wondering why I wasn't squeaking.
"Thank you, Kammi. Hope to see you later." he said, trying to open the door to his homeroom. I blinked a few times as I watched him struggle.
"It's like this." I said, ushering him aside and pulling the handle up, and then shoving it down with my palm.
"Heh heh... um... thanks. Bye Kammi."
"Bye Ian, see you later." I headed back to my homeroom, wondering why he said 'HOPE to see you later' instead of 'see you later.' Maybe it was some English habit, or something?

"Amazing, huh?" Allie asked me at lunch, grinning over her food. We had none of our first classes together, so we always caught up at lunch.
"Huh?"
"The new kid! Isn't he--"
"Ian. His name's Ian Ramef. And yes. Yes he is.” I paused to eat a little. “English, too. Not a very thick accent, but wow."
"You guys need to stop swooning over the new guy," John sighed, sitting next to us. "It always happens the same way... He's something new, so everyone in the school thinks he's soooo cool, then eventually everyone realizes that theres nothings special about him."
"His eyes are so penetrating, though!" Allie said. "Didn't you see them? Wow! I mean, come on! And that accent?"
"You could barely tell he HAD an accent, Allie!" I replied. "Jakob," I started, looking at John and seeing his annoyed-as-hell expression, I grinned before continuing. "What are we going to do in chorus next period, do you know?"
"Uh, no... hmmm, we'll probably have the usual class, you know?"
"Ah, but guess who's schedule I got a glimpse at?" I sang at him.
"Oh no!" he groaned, "If he's in our class, we'll have to do that stupid intro day again!"
"Come on, I like the entry day! We get to pick a favorite song to sing and sing it! How can you NOT like that?"
"Considering I like classical music, I have issues with this day, ok?"
"We'll see how it goes."
"Haha, I bet he sucks at singing!" Allie spat out. "I mean, he's gorgeous, he's so innocent, and from what I've heard, he's really smart. He can't be good at everything!"
"He IS a bit of a moron, though... I mean, in the common sense area. It's what I gathered from our talking. Trusts too easily. It'll get him burned in this school, trust me." I replied to Allie's outburst.
"We'll see." John ended, getting up to throw away his trash.

“Derek, get ready to play some badass guitar!” I said, as I had looked up guitar lyrics to my new favorite song and was right and ready to sing it for everyone. The chorus members usually picked really good music, so everyone looked forward to sitting a listening, challenging people to add their own flourishes to the songs they picked, and waited to see if they'd wreck it or not.
“What've you got for me, Kammi?” He asked, getting his guitar out. Derek was our musician. He could play any instrument, and on top of that he was an amazing sight reader. He loved guitar the most, though. That and piano. He was an O-K singer, but we say he should just stick to the instruments. He's ok with the idea, anyway. He loves playing music, rather than singing and wasting his voice for his debate group.
“A new student's coming in, and I've got a great song for you. Ever heard of Goodbye Earl? Here's the guitar lyrics.” I handed him the lyrics. I listened to mostly cover artists, so I had handed him the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version of the song.
“Ah, heard of it. Never heard it. Alright, I'll put it here, I'm sure others will pile things up for me.”
Sure enough, they did. Everyone knew by now about Ian in our class. The only problem was, no one told him about the chorus entry day. I realized this as he entered the room, his backpack slung over his shoulder, and looking around like he was memorizing everything within sight.
“Damn..” I murmured when I realized that he wouldn't know. I'd have to tell him. “Uh, Ian!” I called out, walking swifty towards him.
“Ah! Kammi! You're in here! Great! Where can I put this?” He pointed to his backpack.
“Anywhere not in the way is fine. Anyway, I forgot to tell you that you need to pick out a song.”
“A song?”
“Yeah, ever time we have a new student we redo the Into Day of Chorus. We all pick our favorite song and sing it while Derek,” I pointed Derek out, “plays it with his mad sight reading skills.”
“Oh. Ok, cool. I have a song already, I'm ok.”
“Really? How'd you...?”
“I was planning on teaching myself how to play it, but this is great.” he smiled at me. “Um... would you mind if I sat next to you? I really still don't know much other than just you.. heh heh..”
“Um, I suppose. Go give Derek you're song, though. I'll be over there.” I went to sit down, and the bell rang. Ian started walking back towards me, but was attacked by rabid preps. (Allie would call them “fangirls” or something like that, I think.)
“But, I uh, I need to get over there, and um--!” Ian was dragged off no matter how much he protested. I rolled my eyes. John sat down near me, staring off over at Ian.
“That jerk. He think's he's so cool...” He muttered.
“Actually, that 'jerk' was trying to come sit over here and was attacked by horrible preps. Didn't you hear his pleas for mercy?” I laughed. “Preps can be so merciless.”
“I guess.”
And so Chorus started. Ian was told to go last, since he was the least prepared for the day. My song went by with many laughs and giggles from the Chorus, John's song (Wild World by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, picked by me at the last second) went by with cheering. The rest of the songs were mostly pop and hiphop crap songs. I disliked most of them. But then Ian's song came up. I hadn't ever heard it before. The lyrics were a little weird, but it was a really pretty song and I loved it. The thing is, his voice swerved around and entwined in it perfectly. He had the most captivating singing voice. It was angelic, almost.
“Here... Uh, I picked this song. It's by All Time Low.” Ian told us. I didn't know that band. It went like this, though:

Woke up from dreaming and put on his shoes
Starting making his way past 2 in the morning
He hasn't been sober for days

Leaning out into the breeze
Remembering Sunday, he falls to his knees
They had breakfast together
But two eggs don't last
Like the feeling of what he needs

Now this place is familiar to him
She pulls on his hand with a devilish grin
She led him upstairs, she led him upstairs
Left him dying to get in

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

Even though she doesn't believe in love,
He's determined to call her bluff
Who could deny these butterflies?
They're filling his gut

Waking the neighbors, unfamiliar faces
He pleads though he tries
But he’s only denied
Now he's dying to get inside

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

The neighbors said she moved away
Funny how it rained all day
I didn't think much of it then
But it's starting to all make sense
Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds
Are following me in my desperate endeavor
To find my whoever, where ever she may be

I'm not coming back, I've done something so terrible
I'm terrified to speak, but you'd expect that from me
I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt; now the rain is
Washing you out of my hair and out of my mind
Keeping an eye on the world,
So many thousands of feet off the ground
I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds
Towering over your head

I guess I'll go home now
I guess I'll go home now
I guess I'll go home now
I guess I'll go home

It was amazing. We all stared in awe. He cleared his throat and the bell rang. He bolted as soon as he heard it, misinterpreting the silence. As soon as he left, though, we all started whistling and smiling. He just missed it. That was the end of the day.

Lizzy: Critisism, please? And tell me what you think. Review. o.o

I don't know if I'll continue this or not. Tell me if you think I should, tell me if you think I shouldn't.
