Mine Alone

Writing these words is like painting a canvas

No painting can ever be the exact same

The air is never the same

The words slant in a different direction

The meaning can never be read the same

My style is mine alone

There is something about my tone

It appears in my words

Bleeds through like thick ink on thin paper

I can try to curb it

But it still appears

My style is mine alone

I am not the perfect mold

I do not follow all the rules

There’s too much to fit

I spill over the sides

I create something new

My style is mine alone

It is not something that can be given on loan

Others cannot just walk up

Take what they wish

Leave the rest for someone else

Don’t you understand?

My style is mine alone

Must I become another clone?

Shiny and perfect

Boring to read

Repeated ideas

I think not

My style is mine alone

I do not care about being known

These words are for me

My expression

They have meaning

Can you discover it?

My style is mine alone

To force it makes me groan
