Make this work

They mutter behind our backs

Questioning our decision

And questioning the love that is

And is yet to come

They think it will not last

I would rather not be a laughing stock of

Those I thought my friends

But that is not what drives me

The fact that despite all your worries

All your fears and nightmares

You shine through

Your smiles and your frowns are slowly

Showing through the cracks

Of a face set in stone

I hear there whispers

And all the secrets that they tell

About what they would say if or when we fell

And all it does is make me smile wider

The sun seems to shine just a little brighter

And I see you

No longer dressed in black
