Seattle

I still remember

a day at the stony shore

as a child,

grabbing a grayish rock

from the gravel

and smashing it open

to find brilliant crystals.

Its rough exterior gave no hint

of the magic within.

Copy-change of "La Jolla," but I lost the book so I don't know who by. Apologies.
