Shelved Memory

My back is against the door

I’m here sitting on the floor.

I don’t know what to do

‘Cause now I don’t have you.

I don’t even know what we’re fighting for

But I know I want to see your face once more.

Now watching you walk away,

I can’t think of a thing to say.

I already miss your touch;

Why does it hurt so much?

We used to always laugh;

You were my perfect other half.

I was the sun, you were my sky

You held me so close when I cried.

I loved how you caressed my face

The way you looked at me made my heart race.

Now watching you walk away,

I can’t think of a thing to say.

I already miss your touch;

Why does it hurt so much?

I know you’ll find somebody else,

And I’ll be put on a dusty shelf.

I’ll have you in my memory,

But you will not remember me.

When you left you ripped out my soul

I didn’t know you could be so cold.

I’ve never felt pain such as this

Never again to know your kiss.

Now watching you walk away,

I can’t think of a thing to say.

I already miss your touch;

Why does it hurt so much?
