maybe it’s this yellow (wall)paper
and mint chocolate chip houses
on rudolph road, asian families
in sports sedans, real estate
listings in front yards,
tori singing the blues.

maybe it’s shiny bald spots
on overweight men, smiling
fraud doctors on a bus’ back
panel, movie show picture
3-d inverted images reflected
and throwing off my equilibrium.

maybe it’s a guy who has no
clue how to fucking walk,
but something or someone
has kidnapped my muse
and i don’t have the money
to pay for ransom.
