The Princes eyes were a beautiful summer set green that glow with such golden hues it could make you stop dead in your tracks just to gaze upon such large pupils that’s glances were cold and empty.
The Princes eyes were only so much odder for his mothers eyes were a deep wooden brown and his fathers were so dark they seemed black. With this people believed his eyes to only be a mystery of science and so they became more loved among the people.
Though one day rumors spread of a traveling knight whose eyes too were emerald.
The Prince found nothing of it for he was a mere child and so didn’t understand what so many people talked about in the village yet one day a party started at the castle and the boy finally noticed of all the words passed as he lingered about them.
Bad words spoken, harsh ones that made the prince feel as if he were mud all along with burning stairs and many giggles and chuckles all filled with such hate and mockery.
He wondered why his people would be so cruel. Why did they give him such awful looks?
Of coarse it could only be one thing they laughed at. . .
His eyes.
So beautiful yet so ugly, the eyes of a betrayed husband and a cheating wife’s secret gone wrong.
He just couldn’t have them.
"I mustn’t," he thought "I cannot be mocked so freely."
Those eyes such a gentle green looking back at him always. Looking through him with such force they only filled the prince with scorn and others too.
As he watched them in the mirrors reflection he became cold.
"They can’t be here," he leaned closer to focus as he grinned vastly "They must leave me be."
As he stared into the glass his grin became sharp and all he could see were the round orbs in front him, the mad eyes he just wanted gone.
Soft little balls of liquid so fragile to the simplest or sharpest touch that may pop them, even tear them out.
Now no one knows the Prince's eye color.
