When I look in your eyes

I see clear to your soul

I see the love buried there

The desire under the surface

The need, the want, the emotion

It all shows so clearly there

Visible on your face, in your eyes

You’re like my open book

Easily readable, if you look beneath

Scrap away the lies, the cover-ups

Open the cover, and find it all

It is there, black and white

Your emotions, your feelings

I must look no deeper than your eyes

They are the portal through your disguise

The way to remove your mask

Showing the world the true you

Digging up long buried secrets

Drudging up old feuds, disagreements

With the pain comes immense joy

With the feuds comes loving moments

Old memories thought to be lost

Recovered from the sieve

Your mind, filtering itself, cleansing

Purification is its goal, but instead

It only cleanses you of the good

Leaving you with only pain, sadness

Face it, trudge through, search

Buried deep they are there

Together we can find the good memories

Sort through, work through, discover

Use it to your advantage

Turn it around to work for you

Let the bad help you find the good

It is there, I swear, just search
