How can I walk
when I can’t even talk?
Sometimes my mouth locks
and the words come out distorted, or not at all.

Every word I say is heavily weighed.
I’m scared to offend,
but endlessly injure my friends.

I'd try to apologize,
but when I say I’m sorry,
I get strange glances and more worry.

What I say is not a joke, yet people laugh.
If I never spoke
few would notice,
and I would never be ridiculed.
