your blows rained down on my cheeks like lightning bolts
my head spinning with dementia delirium alcohol and blood
i kicked back like a colt, with all the fury of the guilty
it just goes to show: neither of us has ever had the upper hand
when i forgive so much, i might as well forget
i won't get caught up in might-have-beens
and it's not like you'll hesitate to let me go
i'm just waiting for that extra something you'll do to me
to finally convince me that it's over, this time for the last time
