The Horrific Trail

The Horrific Trail

I remember it well, we were stuck

That one, single, tree stump a great obstacle for us.

I was afraid

I didn’t want us to flip over,

I worried the go cart wouldn’t make it over

I jumped out of the car, clawing at the barren dirt

It dirtied my hands, slid under my nails

My only support, a nearby tree

You managed, unbeknownst to me, to get the cart up the hill

Now, when I saw the greater image before me, all hope seemed lost,

As lost as we were, on this horrific trail

I yelled in a mixture of Fear, Anger, and Frustration

This day couldn’t have gotten any worse

We wandered, aimlessly. Until we found a set of tracks, and heard the clanking noises of engines rumbling to life from afar

We followed that sound until we found the source, we found the main gate of this awful place. And I jumped out of pure happiness.
