it's simple and cheap, the way crafts and arts are stuck on the ceiling
and the insides of windowsill flowerpots
not with glue
but with bubbleyum gum
that which comes in small packages of karaoke green and tablecloth blue
or side-arm pink like plastic hearts
fun
or little boys and railway cars
after a night of vandalism in the slums
where no museum will dare hold priceless sculptures
since no government-sponsored residents will tolerate marble on display

they don't speak of it, but they all have discovered a truth in their simplicity
that a majority can't grasp--that stone is nothing to play around with
nothing to take lightly
while living in a world of rubber and sheet metal.
