She stood in an open field, patiently waiting for him to show. The branches of the tall, dark trees danced with the cool wind in the distance. The one star shined in the dusk sky, keeping her company. An hour had gone by…

But you didn't show

He was nowhere to be seen…

No no no

Nowhere to be found…

I needed You today

She wanted him now…

So where did You go?

She longed to see his beautiful face…

You told me to call

So she called a couple hours before…

Said You'd be there

She eagerly headed toward the field and waited...

And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?She took a deep breath…

I cried out with no reply

A chilling feeling gradually washed over her. She looked around, her heart pounding faster and faster…

And I can't feel You by my side

Finally, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She slowly lifted her arms in the air and hugged herself…

So I'll hold tight to what I know

The food, the gifts, the hugs, the kisses…

You're here

She heard someone walk behind her. Her lips formed a smile as arms wrap themselves around her waist…

And I’m never

He pulls her toward him…

Alone

He pressed his face against her hair, kissing her neck. She leaned back and enjoyed his warm breath against her cool skin. The longer he held her, the warmer she felt. He whispered pleasantries into her ear, and she laughed. He kissed her cheek once more and pulled her to the ground. She sat on his lap and leaned on his chest. The trees continue to dance with the wind, and they watch the show together…

And though I cannot see You
And I can't explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance

She turned around and gazed at him…

He smiled at her. She was part of him as well…

And though You're invisible

She reached out to touch his face…

He leaned back and pulled her closer to him

They rest on the ground. He kissed her chin and she rolled off him and onto her back…

They faced the sky together and they watched the glistening stars. Her hand traveled down his arm to locate his warm hand…
