Your voice wraps me in a velvety cocoon of comfort

While your smile casts an ethereal glow on my vision

And your laughter fills me with euphoria.

When you stand near me, I feel nothing but

The ache of a wish for your arms around my waist.

My face flushes, and the palpitations of my heart are so echoing,

It’s a wonder you haven’t guessed yet.

Every day, I look forward to seeing you

And you haven’t the slightest inkling

Of my seemingly obvious affections.

I often wonder at how you would respond if you knew.

Most likely, you would simply brush it off

As a silly girlhood crush, but how can something

So beautiful and bittersweet be silly?
