"It's all over," he says

he can't see the hope in all this

he's abandoned, forsaken, forgotten, and destroyed

he asked what light you could possibly see in this mess.

Will you answer him?

Will you tell him the truth?

Or are you afraid and let him walk away

broken and confused.

"I'm tired of this livin,'" she confides

Her sister, her dad-all broken inside

abused, neglected, pushed aside and destroyed

She's noticed your joy and longs for it too.

Will you answer her?

Will you tell her the truth?

Or are you afraid and let her walk away

broken and confused.

You didn't hear the news-you were too busy gossiping with your friends

a suicide, a young girl, ready to end her life

and your head is buzzing, your heart is pounding

you justify to yourself- "I wasn't ready for this."

This time you hear the news

a young man, sentenced to the max

he took one life- now they'll take his

you justify to yourself- "I wasn't ready for this."

Now you're alone

so haunted with guilt

you can't see out.

"Where is the light with all this?" You ask.

The answer comes back

"The light is within you-

but you wouldn't share it."
