Crop of RV’s Cream by Disneyluver

Summary: I wrote this poem for my senior class back in 2004. I actually wrote it for my senior assembly on march 5, 2004. It was such a huge hit that it made it into the graduation booklet that june. Of course I did not know it was going to be in the booklet so when I saw it I was pretty shocked! I worked very hard on this and even four years later, I am still very proud of it. Names have been changed to protect people’s privacy.. the song lyrics at the end of the poem refer to Phil Collin’s song “Take a Look Through My Eyes” which played during the slideshow. Thank you and please read and review

Pause a minute and look at the senior team

The crop of RV’s cream.

Twenty-eight seniors who came to this school, knowing naught

Our teachers were surprised at the number of lessons that they were taught.

Frances was nice to all even when they were feeling low.

Sam taught us that sometimes wandering is the way to go.

Tanya taught us that Greek knowledge is power,

Elizabeth taught that laughter is contagious even when you are feeling sour.

Matty never settles for low-level words,

Megan taught us to be kind to seagulls

Megan: the seagulls made me do it!

and all other birds.

In every class Tom is at the top

We can see him in the future owning an auto shop.

Mark is our British friend;

Big Red will stay true to the very end,

Clair is our Drama Queen and to others she is never mean.

Phillip taught us that Jet Blue is the way to go,

Danny says eat fruit and you will grow.

Caleb is a man of few words, but when he speaks a lot comes out,

Anne says athletics will make you strong and stout.

Daryl is quite a guy, even to new students who are shy.

Colin is a cheerful friend.

You will hear his laughter around every bend.

Jade says you should never give up, not until you get your full cup.

Everyone knows that Sadie secretly loves and roots for the Red Sox,

Sadie: so untrue! I'm a yankee fan all the way

she’s learned that you need to have street smarts to walk many blocks.

Paula helped us add flavor to all we do.

Alexis always remembers people on their birthdays with a card saying “Happy Birthday to you.”

Phil’s musical knowledge is great,

To Kami’s cheerful attitude, we can all relate.

Bert says bread is fine,

if you need help with math problems, he’ll be there in no time.

Ryan greets you with a hug, even when you’re feeling like a slug.

When in class Mandi’s deeply enthralled when she is called.

Paige is our craft creature;

she might grow up to be an art teacher.

Kate is our southern bell

she helps others out with their problems as well.

Ted has a good eye for fine desserts

with his spiders he likes to flirt.

Maggie is last in line;

we all can say her sense of humor is mighty fine.

On the first day of school, Mr. V had a cow-

Seniors: MOOOOOO!

but he loves us all now.

Even if the teachers wanted to scream,

we soon proved to them we are the elite team.

So this poem come comes to an end,

our good vibes to you we will always send.

When you came into the auditorium, we passed these lyrics out.

Why we chose this song you’ll have to figure that out.
