Winding River

The river is like the winding road,

The path through the meadow,

Curling past the mountain,

Wending ‘neath the willow tree.

--

The path through the meadow

Among the lilies,

Wending ‘neath the willow tree,

Below the vast blue sky.

--

Among the lilies,

Bright and shining,

Below the vast blue sky,

Forever carved of sapphire.

--

Bright and shining,

Oh, the river winding,

Forever carved of sapphire,

Long and distant path meandering.

--

Oh, the river winding,

Never ending,

Long and distant path meandering,

Upon the surface ripples spreading.

--

Never ending,

The river is like the winding road

Upon the surface ripples spreading,

Curling past the mountain.
