To I

Brown eyes gazed lovingly at brown eyes,
like a pair of reflecting moons in the night
A lover's stare, I used to sigh
while I thought about you in pure delight
your sparkling eyes reminded me of a sunbeam,
your boyish grin had a look of a trickster
but the innocent days of darling were a youth's dream,
you were no longer fit for a trickster
--it was only a dream.

Laughing at some side joke,
seeing you everyday,
struggling in school, copying homework,
befriending you the good way
your soul painted a brilliant radiance,
but friendship was not all that it seems,
obscurity clouded your attractive radiance
--it was only a dream.

The song of Apollo echoed your presence
angels carolled to a holy lyric,
but the snake of ambition clouded your presence
my thoughts of you no longer poetic,
I yearned for you yet you damaged my esteem,
you chose yourself over love,
how could you leave me, waiting in our dream?
you were my angel from above!
--I guess it was only a dream.

Well time passed by
about time to kiss another prince
you left me alone, I waved good-bye
even found a new angel ever since
I'm sorry my love, you'll have to wait to be redeemed
maybe in another life, time will tell
though ambitious I know you heartache for our dream
now you're alone, trapped in an isolated hell
--we were only a dream.
