“How many times in an average life does one become one of the executive owners of a protection program only because he or she was born into the family that created it? The simple fact is, this happening is very uncommon, especially if the protection program was for Vampires, Werewolves, and Changers. The Vampire, Werewolf, and Changer Protection Program, also known as the V.W.C.P.P., was created by my mother. Of course, she always listed the creatures in this order because there were more Vampires than Werewolves and more Werewolves than Changers. She, being a Vampire, felt that they needed protection from the rest of the world, since they were and still are a minority. My mother fought viciously for the safety of these people, declaring that if the United States government felt that Vampires and Werewolves should be wiped out because of the simple difference between them and normal humans, then they might as well wipe out an entire culture of this earth. She was the one to uncover so much information that was hidden from the public, and it was easy for her to get followers. Not only followers of the races she was trying to protect, but humans as well. The government, tired of fighting, allowed the V.W.C.P.P. to become, and inevitably exist.”
Elizabeth May was the head of the V.W.C.P.P., and soon after many, many people were protected by this program, she married Gregory Louranne. Elizabeth was one of the best known Vampires because of the simple fact that she was a class 1 Vampire; which gave her the ability to survive without needing blood for years or so at a time. The average Vampire needed at least one victim every two months to survive, but the Virus had a different affect on Elizabeth. Gregory, being a normal human, didn’t realize his wife was a Vampire until two years later, after their marriage, a man broke into the house to assassinate Elizabeth because of the creation of the program. Elizabeth, acting like any Vampire would, killed the man to protect herself. It was a surprise to the public, that is, the part of society that hated Vampires and Werewolves, that Gregory didn’t leave her. In fact, a few months later they bore a daughter, Sonya Elizabeth Louranne.
Ever since birth Elizabeth had been worried about her daughter; she had been able to protect Vampires, Werewolves and Changers, but not Halfies. Usually, the general public had no problems with Halfies since they didn’t usually attack people, but Elizabeth could tell something was different about Sonya.
Three years after Sonya was born, Elizabeth was murdered by John Pauckal, who was the leader of an Anti-Vampire, Anti-Werewolf society. Gregory became the father of another daughter, Stacie, eleven months after his wife’s death.
“…I just remember coming home with Daddy and we found Mommy lying on the floor, eyes staring at the ceiling in an almost forgiving manner. Daddy said she forgave the man who killed her, which made me happy in the time of tears…”
Gregory decided it would be best to keep Sonya away from the mother of Stacie, and so he lived as a lone parent of two young girls. At the age of five, Gregory got Sonya a pet cat as company while he worked late nights since the babysitter would only care for baby Stacie. However, one night Sonya became angry with her feline friend and killed him by biting him, but did not drink his blood.
“I knew it was wrong, but I was so angry. Before I realized what I had done, my precious cat was lying still in my arms. I was angry at myself after the accident for what I had done, but when I began gagging because of the horrid taste in my mouth, I forgot all about the cat. All that mattered was to get the taste out of my mouth. I went to the bathroom to wash my mouth out, but then Ms. Higgens came to see me and screamed when she saw me. I didn’t understand. But the horrid taste was still in my mouth… It was the worst thing I ever tasted…”
The babysitter called the cops and never babysat for them again. Gregory knew his wife’s blood ran through Sonya’s veins, and he knew he couldn’t allow the two half-sisters to live in one house any longer; one would end up badly hurt or dead. Gregory gave Sonya up for adoption at the age of seven, but was killed in a car accident a year later.
“I didn’t understand why Daddy left me in the orphanage. I knew I was smart for my age, I knew I never got sick, but why did Daddy leave me? Wasn’t it good to be smart? Wasn’t it good to always be healthy? Daddy said it was better for me, but I wanted to be with him. He was the only one who knew why I was different. He was my only way to remember Mommy.”
Sonya was adopted by a single mother, and was cared for until eighteen. Under the laws of the V.W.C.P.P., since she was the daughter of the creator of the program and was now old enough, she became one of the executive owners of the program; she had the power to hire, fire, change and / or destroy any part of the program.
“I would like to thank my adopted Mother, who cared for me since I was young. I would like to thank my Father, even though he left me in an orphanage. I would like to thank my Mother, for she did the most for me; she gave me life. I know I am different, and I understand that most people look down on me for this. But I never asked to be different, and neither did any other Vampires, Werewolves, Changers, or Halfies. It’s just like how we are all born with a certain hair color, eye color, skin color. We never ask to be white with blue eyes, or black with brown eyes. We are born the way God wants us to be born, and that is how he sees our beauty. Some of us are born with disabilities, some of us are born with special abilities. As a side note, I believe every difference in every human being is both a disability, and a special ability.
I take this job, an executive owner of V.W.C.P.P., or the Vampire, Werewolf and Changer Protection Program, in gratitude, pride, and love for my country and my people, no matter if you are brunette or blond, black or white, Vampire or Werewolf, different or not. I will take this job and dedicate my life to it, just as my Mother did when she created it. If anything, I wish to change the world into a better place, just like how my Mother tried doing before she was murdered…”
