I slept for what felt like a day (Or maybe more!)

Little did I know what this new world had in store.

The sun woke me up with its hot, shiny finger.

And the coolness of the wind that swept me up was still to linger.

My eyes opened wide. (How I wish I kept the closed!)

I was stuck on a narrow shelf of rock (On a cliff I supposed.)

For hours I sat, feeling quite sorry for myself,

And wrought with guilt, I thought of back home and the dolls on my high shelf.

I summed up my little courage to look out to where I might be,

Behold, down below, it was nothing but sea!

"I'm stuck here forever with no family, no food, nor even a friend!"

I wept at the thought of how this day would end.

I stared once more to the endless watery bed,

And was consoled from a fond memory in my head.

"My young friend, his eyes were like this sea of silvery blue.

I know that as I think of him, he must think of me too."

But being consoled would only last so long,

Because not far away came the thunder's song.

It was all too soon that that devious wind came rushing back!

Worse still, after a thunderous roar, I heard a loud CRACK!

The shelf that was my home for a day (Or maybe more),

Soon went crumbling down to what looked like the sea shore.

It wasn't the shore at all, just my sight playing tricks.

My body made a crash landing into the sea foam like a ton of bricks.

I thought, "This is surely the end!" and other thoughts of that kind.

You see, when you get older, first the worse come to mind.

Now a child would have thought, "This may not end so well,

But who really knows? Only time shall tell."

I pursued the idea and just in the nick of time,

There was a tug on the night-shirt of mine.

I was hauled out of the terrifying sea and its depths.

When I was to regain consciousness I would forever be in my saviour's debts.
