Lost In Your Eyes

Chapter One

My name is Paige. I was forced onto this vacation by my best friend and family. They kept saying I'd thank them. Then the ship got caught in a storm and I end up stranded on and island with am engaged guy I just met. Why would I thank them? Yet I did.

I let out a big sigh before walking onto the deck of the cruise ship. Instantly, I grabbed the railing and found the door to the rooms.

"Room 53, room 53, roo-room 53!" I smiled triumphantly and put my key in the doorknob, only to be shoved against the door. I groaned when I realized the boat was moving, and then I felt sick.

'Focus on the floor...oh, but the floor is moving!' Holding my stomach, I turned around and slid down the door to the floor. I probably looked constipated and weird, but I didn't care.

"Miss?" I opened my eyes to see one of the most drop dead gorgeous guys standing in front of me. And I was about to puke.

Just my luck.

"Yeah?" I answered, my voice sounding like a gargle.

"Are you okay?" He sounded concerned.

'Stop it, don't you dare fall for his good looks.' I told myself sternly before looking into his deep green eyes. 'Okay...that's going to be hard. Really hard.'

"Not...really." I groaned. He nodded and turned the key, opening the door. Then I started to fall backwards, but he caught me.

Oh how romantic. Hint, sarcasm.

I blushed and covered my mouth since I thought I was going to hurl. He picked me up and set me down on my bed.

"I'd recommend some motion sickness pills." He said before turning to walk away.

"Uh, okay." I mumbled. Then he turned back around.

"Oh, and my name is Andrew." He said. I nodded and was quiet until I realized he wanted to hear my name. My face turned red again.

"I'm Paige." I squeaked. Andrew smiled and left the room. Once he was gone I practically raced to the bathroom.

After about ten minutes of the involuntary emptying of my stomach, I felt better but my breath stank. I brushed my teeth and dug around my suitcase for something else to wear, since my black skirt and white blouse reeked.

"That woman, I should seriously chain her up." I grumbled since all I could find were Capri's, tank tops, ankle socks, and shorts.

I settled for a white pair of Capri's and a light blue belly tank top. While walking out of my room I pulled my black hair up into a ponytail and headed for the deck. Taking his advice, I grabbed some motion sickness pills on the way.

'Man, this feels nice.' I thought as I leaned against the railing and looked out across the blue and green expanse of rolling water. A nice wind blew and sprayed me. Then my cell-phone rang: my best friend and her every-other-hour call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Are you relaxing?" A teasing voice asked.

"No. I was sick, Tori." I grumbled. I heard her laughter loudly from the ear piece of my phone. Some friend.

"That is hilarious!" She managed to say when her giggle fit was over.

"No, it's not." I said sternly. "A super hot guy came by when I was about to be sick." Victoria was now howling with laughter.

"I'm going to hang up."

"No, no, please! I'm sorry, that was just too funny!" She started giggling again and I sighed.

"You're impossible."

"That's what they say!"

"I can't believe you, anyway!" I accused.

"What?" She asked innocently.

"You completely emptied my suitcase and replaced it with tank tops and shorts!" I snarled.

"Well duh! You can't relax if you're wearing long black skirts and white blouses all the time. I even packed a bikini." I could almost hear her smiling.

"But seriously, must you check up on me every two hours?" I asked chidingly.

"Yep. This cruise trip I forced you into would be a big waste if you weren't relaxing."

"For the last time, I don't need to relax! I have to be at work! I have deadlines!" I practically yelled into the phone.

"Sheeze, Paige, no need to scream at me." Victoria grumbled. I rolled my eyes.

"Anyway, you really needed this vacation. You had seriously bloodshot eyes and were almost falling asleep during work! Trust me, you'll thank me for this later."

"I can't believe you planned this whole scheme just to get me to take a vacation."

"Hey, you know I'm obsessive!" She accused.

"Sadly, yes." I muttered.

"Oh, about the obsessiveness. If you like the clothes I packed, you'll love your pj's!" And with that, she hung up befoer I could yell at her.

I let out an exasperated sigh and decided to go hunt for some dinner.

'Yeah, Tori, I'll thank you someday.' I thought sarcastically.
