This story is my own. I wrote this when I was in 6th grade so if it seems childish that is why, I am currently continuing and editing this story and am now in college so hopefully my grammar has gotten better and so has my word choices. This story is meant for children, I am hoping to turn it into some type of book eventually.

Chapter 1

Once upon a time there was a family of mice that were very poor. They had a two room apartment. The family was made of a mom and a dad, a big sister Jodie who was seventeen years old, a brother Alex who is fifteen years old and twins Sasha and Tanya who are three years old. The father mouse worked in construction, and the mother worked in a bakery. This mice family lives in the Kingdom of Sril.

The King of Sril, King Jake has three children of his own. They are Max who is eighteen years old, Sophia who is fifteen years old and Brian who is five years old. The Queen of Sril had died shortly after Brian's second birthday, leaving the King to raise their children by himself. The King hired tutors and nannies for his children, but was unlike other royalty in the fact that he spent a lot of time with his children and didn't let them be left with the nannies and tutors all the time.

Now the King's advisors had told him that in order to have enough money in the treasury to have enough money to buy the materials that were needed to be imported for the various new buildings that they were planning on building for the kingdom. So the King raised the taxes and they were too high for the Mouse family so they couldn't afford to live in their little apartment anymore. Their landlord Mr. Delois kicked them out of the apartment so they were forced to live on the streets. Sasha and Tanya were crying and Jodie was trying to take care of them. Since Alex and Jodie were old enough to have jobs, Alex and their father were off seeing if anyone would be willing to employ the two of them. After a short while Alex and their dad (Jason) returned to where they left the rest of their family. Alice (the mom) asked Jason if they were successful in finding the two of them jobs. Jason went and talked to his wife, “Yes we found them jobs, Alex will be working as an assistant for the kindergarten teacher over at the school, and Jodie will be working with a childcare taker so she can take Sasha and Tanya with her”. Alex was playing with Sasha and Tanya and helping Jodie with taking care of them. The entire mouse family was happy that the older children had found jobs and that tomorrow was a new day and hopefully they would find a place to live.
