The Anin Project

She walked through the broken house. Her shoes were lost long ago in the winding hallways. She could feel the dust and grime on her feet, lodging itself in her pores; poisoning her blood. Every so often she would slow down, as if waiting for someone. Someone that she wasn’t sure was there, but always felt. Her already dirty hands trailed lightly against the wall, ripping of pieces of dried out, peeling wallpaper as she went. Some pieces getting stuck under her perfectly manicured nails. She didn’t notice though, in fact, in her mind this house was actually a magnificent palace. She was out of place in the broken house; her outfit was prim and proper, crisp and neat. Whereas the house was dirty, dilapidated and looked like it hadn’t been inhabited for many years, probably only by bums off the street. As she walked through the house, however, her clothing gradually became dirty, and ripped, and by the time she had made it through the maze like corridors she resembled one of the many bums on the street. She looked confused, like she didn’t know where she was. The final step she took out of the house brought her vision back to the reality she had been trying to escape. For a while she just stood there, with a dazed expression on her face, the hysteria she had been experiencing a moment ago now completely erased from her facial features. Her murky brown eyes looked forward at the tree, but she was not looking at the tree. She didn’t see anything, didn’t hear or feel anything. She was an empty shell. She began to move forward, her bare feet stepping into the filth and glass on the asphalt. The soles of her feet were now black and rubbed raw.

A/N- So this is something I was working on for fun. I don't know how I got the idea or how, but it all stemmed from one crazy day. The chapters are going to be short because they alternate from speaker to speaker. Each chapter is another persons perspective. You'll see. Please R&R Enjoy :)
