He talked in third person as
the baby’s blonde lashes fluttered against her
jaw bone

The images flicked across the screen-
A super hero theme song
hung in the air.

We understand
We feel for you

He talked in 2nd person-
A rarity for someone his age
The baby’s eyes opened as he
exhaled a yawn

He tucked his head in the nape
of her neck

You understand
You feel for yourself?

He talked in first person
Telling tales of the action figure
plastered on his chest

He claimed they looked alike as
the baby stretched his arms
which caught the light and appeared on
the screen

I understand
I feel for you

No- she said
You don’t know what
It’s like
At
All
