Chapter Five:

Howl

I’ve just got home from The Cave. We had a rough night. I will surely enjoy the weekend. At least two days of silence, without shadows, whispers and screams. For some reasons the daemons always disappear on weekend. Anyway, this was a hard night.

We prepared an initiation test for that new guy, Jillian. But, when Scar and Mel got to the Cave we saw that there was somebody else with them. Beside Jillian there was his little sister. She wasn’t looking good so I placed her next to my bag and put my had on her forehead.

I could fell Tia’s jealousy behind me, but I didn’t stop. It seemed that the shadows have already done the work on the lil’ one. She had a fever and she was shaking. Her eyes were so bright that I couldn’t look at them. Then she started mumbling something that sounded like Daemon song. She screamed and stopped.

Jillian was terrified. He took his sister’s had and tried to pet her. She pulled away, not wanting to touch him. I explained to him that she went through a hard test of mind and that she needed rest. We left Mel with her and went down to the Cave to proceed his initiation.

I felt his power first time I saw him. I think that it’s equal to mine. We went to the Underlake and started the initiation. When we were done, Jillian was also shivering and panting like he ran a marathon. I asked Scarlet to take him and his sister home ‘cuz she’s their first neighbor but she didn’t want to. Tia took them instead.

I slowly walked home, exhausted form the ritual and I felt that someone is following me. I turned. It was just Scar. She wanted to se if I’m alright.

“Guess I ‘m feeling better than Jillian.” I said. “Why didn’t you want to walk him home?”

She stared at me for a second and then our lips collided. In first I tried to stop it, I mumbled “No.” but I liked it. She kept pressing on to my lips and I gave in.

After a few minutes I walked her home.

“Wanna go to my place for a coffee or something?” she asked with a smile.

“I’m not sure, should I.”

“I guess Tia will kill me for this.” She said glancing down the street.

I smiled. “It will be our little secret then.”

“Ok!” Scarlet was gazing on me and I rubbed her cheek.

“So, coming in or not?” she asked.

I came. And now I’m lying in my bed. Happy. Still can’t believe I did it. She sounded to good for this. She’s one of the newest members. I never thought that I like her this way. But there’s something luring in her.

Guess I’ll have to end with Tia.
