We had been wandering for hours, trying to find a way out of the forest. I was tired and hot, and I didn't think that Melanie or Mitch could make it another hour. I found a shady spot under a tree and sat down. Melanie and Mitch followed my action.

"So. Tired." Melanie panted.

"I know." Mitch panted after her.

"You guys are such wimps." Spence said, his british accent was strong. Well, yeah compared to him. Sure he looked like a shaggy skater, but he was really toned and in shape. I mean I was in shape, but still we have no idea where we are going, where we are, and quite frankly I had a terrible feeling all day. I mean we were lost, but I felt like some one put us here for a reason, and not a good one.

I had some time to talk with Spence, Mitch and Melanie when we were hiking though. I learned that Melanie and Mitch are eight, and that Spence is sixteen. He skates, and that the twins both play soccer. But for some reason, none of us could remember where we were from. We couldn't remember our phone numbers, or our home address. We couldn't remember anything at all. This made us all very wary, who ever did this to us, did it for a reason.

"I know you are tired, but I still have a bad feeling about staying in one place. I think we should keep moving." Spence said as he did a 360 of the surrounding area.

I got up off of the ground. "I agree. We will find something or some one eventually. Then we can eat and get something to drink."

"Okay." The twins said in unison.

Spence lead the way, being to only one with at least some outdoors knowledge. He knew what plants were what, what direction we were going in, he knew a lot of stuff. We skipped over logs and plants. Mitch and Melanie were slower then us, but they were only eight. We hiked along the river, watching the fish and our footing, careful not to fall in.

We had been hiking about fifteen minutes, when we realized something was wrong. I turned around, to find only Mitch behind me.

"Mitch, " I said alarmed.

"What?" He asked.

"Where is Melanie?!" I panicked. He looked behind him, and then looked back at me.

"Oh. No." He said, the fear showed in his face.

I tugged at Spence's sleeve. He turned around to meet my eyes. My heart started pounding faster as I looked in to his chocolaty eyes.

"What?" he asked impatiently since he wanted to get moving.

"Melanie." Was all I had to say before he started calling her name.

We ran father into the woods shouting her name. We ran along the edge of the river. I called her name when I was at the part where it was the easiest to fall in, and the deepest. I heard a small cry and looked below me.

There, clinging to a rotting piece of wood, was Melanie. She was soaking wet and crying. I would be to if I were in this situation.

"Spence! Mitch!" I called. They both came bounding towards me, hopeful glances looked upon me.

I pointed to below. Mitch's face dropped and he got on his knees. Spence looked at me, and then looked at Mitch. He was trying to figure out a way to get Melanie. We didn't know each other very well, but we felt like we had to keep each other safe, and this was one of those times.

"Is there any logs around? We need a big one that could reach down to her." Spence said.

I looked around. I spotted a fairly large tree trunk that had evidently been split in half by most likely a storm. It had some branches that Melanie could pull her self by.

"There." I pointed towards that log. Spence easily lifted it and he put it on a slant towards Melanie. She grabbed it and ever so slowly pulled her self up the tree and onto the ground near us. I took of my jacket and wrapped it around her cold frail body. She was shivering a little and welcomed the warmth.

One hour later, we were walked along the river again, and staying far away from the edge. Melanie's little incident shook everyone up, but we still had to keep moving. We finally saw a small clearing ahead of us, and through the small bit of daylight we had left, we saw a house.
