For My Best Guy Friend

Oh, how very lonely am I!
Some call me a beautiful wreck
For every attempt that I try
Fails and always leaves me upset.

I thought I was doing better
Now depression is my cancer
I cry and my face gets wetter
Slice my arm, the blood falls faster.

I called you at seven A.M.
To confess to you my sweet pain
But you yelled at me again
“How can you keep living this way?

Do you want a psych ward for life?”
I was mad; I hung up on you
You’re not an ordinary guy,
You called again cuz your heart’s true

This time you were gentle and king
Listened to my misery tale
It kind of made me ask you why
You cared for someone who will fail

And you called to check up on me,
See if I was doing alright
Little did you know, please hear me—
It was you that did save my life.

I promise I won’t cut again
And I will never take my life
Surely you must be heaven-sent
Most guys could not handle the strife

So once more, I thank you again
I love you, you’re my best guy friend.
