Third Highway May Dream (Not in Third Person)

Third Highway May Dream (Not in Third Person)

Quizzical sentences of substantial fluff

Testing their valour in marring a flawless patch of blue

(Previously uncleared by a set of hairy, egg carton-clouds)

Smiling across the street at the trees,

Green with envy and sweating under (barometric) pressure,

Matching the synthetic-reflective hue

Announcing metallically― Toronto, Go! (Forget sixty)

After fifty wishes and Eiffel Towers

All they can do is smile in that cumulostratus way,

Bobbing along in the car, watching drainage currents

And swirled and stuccoed clouds strutting across the street

― It’s 8:09:57 and we’re singing along (with the fish in the sky), smiling.
