Title: And We

Chapter One: We Were Strangers

A/N: Well, this was the beginning of the whole And We series. Originally, this poem was a one-shot, but through this one, a whole bunch of ideas sprung up in my head, and I thought, "Well, it wouldn't hurt, right?" I hope you enjoy this one.

Chapter One: We Were Strangers

And we were strangers,
Once;
Before the skies were formed,
And before the stars could gleam.

Oh yes, we were strangers,
Once;
When the world was too
young to know itself
And the sea,
Was but a river of promise.

Why, it was so long ago,
Was it not?
Eternity has passed us by
And left its dust
In our hands.

And yet, there,
In the capsule of time;
As life blazed around us,
As we crossed the plains,
And encountered our own destinies,
We both found a trail, mysterious and wondrous

And then…

We were never strangers again.
